What makes the CR super deadly or just plain crap.
Frame rate drops and I die a lot. Frame rate goes up I kill a lot.
Moral of the story, low frame rate equals HMG
Dust 514, the BEST WORST game you can't stop playing.

Wow. I never imagined the effect would be so... pronounced. The refire delay practically doubles. I can't imagine you were even getting 400 DPS when it was doing that.

A lot of people don't seem to feel framerate drops because they use automatic weapons that simply require you to hold the trigger and aim. Conversely, burst-fire and semi-auto weapons require a steady input based on their maximum RoF in order to properly achieve their maximum DPS, and for some reason in this game there's some areas of the map that really suffer from FPS (frames per second) drops and this in turn causes these weapons to act up. I've been using the CR and Burst AR for a while and in these scenarios I'm using the exact same pattern to fire except that in the laggy condition everything is much slower and much tougher to play in. This plays a huge part in why HMGs are so devastating in these city sockets. When you come face to face with a heavy you not only begin to panic, the game starts to stutter and slow down and just feel like it's not responding as fast as you want it to. What does everyone think? Edit: Clarification, this was with a M/KB.
The CR will also suffer a rate of fire reduction when aimed at high latency opponents-while in the open not just the research facility.
The HMG also suffers from trigger retardation in a latency situations. |

Playing this game is like looking at art through foggy glasses. Or listening to classical music with a dollar store pocket speaker.
CCP, poor performance (less than 30 consistent frames per second) will ruin even the most perfectly designed shooter games.

Wasn't that issue fixed with the slim models though? I have a ps3 slim and still get framerate issues.
I also got framerate issues about a year and a half ago when my PS3 was brand new, even within the first or second match of a play session. |

the framerate shouldnt affect input. it is very well possible to make the game state update at constant speed while the frame rate is variable... I dont get why the devs havent made it that way. Can a blue post answer me that? |

Rattati knows this. Everyone who has developed a video game knows this. When frame rates drop..... So does the inputs per second the game is registering... This generation of consoles is already bare minimum with 30 FPS caps... When DUST frequently see's FPS drops of 10-15.... It's crazy... Alot of people attribute this to Latency lag... from CCP's end or theirs... More often then not it is directly attributed to FPS drops in the game and the same amount of commands not being registered. This is how to create a Game 101. Also why Vet's who have been here for years push for core mechanic fixes first. Not fluff. Not tweaking the same gun statistic already done 10 times before. This should be the thing the CPM's are mentioning EVERYDAY to CCP. Game Performance. Game performance. Hit detection Hit detection... Game performance. Hit detection. Physics. Net Code. Not nerf this and buff this... What a waste of time. Fix this broken game first and then balance it.
So I'm NOT crazy!!!! Oh thank god! I thought I was seeing things?!
I hope this can be fixed, and then CCP applies the fix to this area of the game called "Planetary Conquest" where this bs decides the battle for you literally 95% of the time smh?!

actually, it is very well possible to make the game state update at constant speed while the frame rate is variable... Making the game state independent of the FPS is be the best implementation for a game loop. I dont get why the devs havent made it that way when they run a heavy modified UE anyway. Can a blue answer me that?
Because they're trying to spend as little as possible while making a mint! I got over 1,000 d*mn strongboxes and sh*tty framerate to prove it?!
Everyone had their methods like restarting their PS3 or whatever to hopefully not get F-ed in PC by lag. It's gotten somewhat better since then but there's still certain sockets where the lag is just brutal.
The word "brutal" doesn't quite cut it in some cases smh?!

3 different PS3's.
One old fatty with a SSD.
One Slim with a SSD.
And a slim with 250 gb stock with maybe an hour of play time on it.
Have a 120mb/s Connection at house.
A 80 mb/s connection at the office..(Obviously PS3 caps out at 10mb/s)
I Have low latency Monitors and 3d tv's with gaming mode.
My upstairs gaming room has a full time air conditioner running in it.
There has never been a time in nearly 3 years of playing DUST where there hasn't been massive frame rate issues with this game.
This is real, reported by thousands of people.
I Plug the same PS3's into GTA 5, Destiny and Battlefield 4 and get little to no frame rate issues period... And No Matter how much someone tells me that DUST is this HUGE GAME that the PS3 can't run....
Those games demand more.
DUST has no excuses for this poor game performance from users that have barely ever had an issue in the years they have played PS3.
It is DUST and CCP Shanghai. Not us. |
