It isn't a bad Idea, and many up there aren't bad ideas also trying to make an all time even where if u kill us, u will salvage our stuff in 3x,

- you hear the high pitched sound of a charge sniper rifle for days and become delirious
- your right index finger gets cramped to hell.. because you're constantly holding down R1 (to keep your weapon charged)
It's not like anyone seriously snipes anymore anyways.. request for 600m reinstated.

Merc gets limited number of free items of said weapon.
Merc complains how much time and effort put it.
Merc not appreciating the significance of a mark in New Eden history.

This never happened. (so for people like me with "too many syllables in your name" our mark would be left in the item description)
Logically it does make sense if a weapon is named after you, to have it on you at all times.

That doesn't give you the right to BPO officer or even BPO Proto.

I think exactly just that did occur.
The respective most competitive users of their weapons went beast mode on the entire server for days on end.
I pushed for a charge variant with 5 in the clip. (it could have been a reskinned Balac's or Thale's with different mechanics)
Look what happened. /shrug. I think they were kind enough to listen to some of the input the winners had.
Most if not all winners named the officer variant after themselves anyway. (seems fitting)

i don't think having an officer bpo to be too OP since its only 12 of us. I wouldn't even use it in PC or in Pubs all the time because that would be a scruby thing to do. It would just be for fun once in while.
Three days straight of barely any sleep and paranoia. I even had to put dragonball z episodes in the night because of so much sensory deprivation. My thumb still is healing i wanna post pictures of it but that would be weird.
I think getting an officer BPO is fair after what we went trough. The side arm event was way easier for once it was only 17 days (militia lol) and you only had to play one day. The expert challenge was 25 days added to the fact that we had to play for three days straight to stack more kills.

No I mean a flew around half of New Eden, scrabbling to gather the required materials to contract to the Amarr contact for the even.
How is what you did any different that what I did.
You get your name on a Sniper Rifle.....mine is attached to the most advanced Destroyer in New Eden.......

CCP never updated the item descriptions like they said they would.
(thankfully I didn't name the sniper NOT after myself)
because there would have otherwise been no "mark on new eden" left by me and known to others.
Officer / BPO's have NO ISK VALUE.
Since a player trading economy doesn't exist within Dust 514.
I see no issue with rewarding the winners in this way.

A BPO would be far to OP for these players, these weapons are too great to be unlimitedly spam every battles.
Maybe being granted with 1 or 2 weapons everytime you log on (maxed at once per day of course) would be better. I agree that you deserve these weapons more than anyone else, but BPOs are too much^^
And I'd disagree even for the STD BPO version having a similar name and keeping the "idea" of the gun (unlimited beam with LR, .1 charge delay with RR, better heating mechanic with ScR, etc.) They are what makes the weapons so great, even with less damages/bullets they'll still be better than any proto version!
Assault, Logi, Scout, Heavy.. What do you need?

A handful of guys have OP weapons 24/7. Big deal, you see Alex you kill him at range, you see Symforks you stay in cover, you see Kubo you go melee his face in, Schiffer blast him in half with a shotgun, you see Espeon you laugh in his face because that shotgun is a spaghetti cannon.
And the gain?
The guys that earned those weapons become minibosses in game.
We get officer loot from killing them.
They become feared and prized.
It's almost better than AI bosses.
Sounds fun.

Maybe being granted with 1 or 2 weapons everytime you log on (maxed at once per day of course) would be better. I agree that you deserve these weapons more than anyone else, but BPOs are too much^^
And I'd disagree even for the STD BPO version having a similar name and keeping the "idea" of the gun (unlimited beam with LR, .1 charge delay with RR, better heating mechanic with ScR, etc.) They are what makes the weapons so great, even with less damages/bullets they'll still be better than any proto version!
