This has pulled the rug out from under me. Not a good fighter! Not a good heavy! But was the great ones when it came to the uplinks and ammo. (Proto in both) Now what I got to pick one small amount I can put out. I get this is to help when a proto is matched up with a newbeary, but really folks WTF. I would have made a mission lvl select so you could place yourself up the ranks not cut off the legs of my support group. This is like if I was to take a heavy and give them 10 bullets with the machine gun and say go kill the enemy. You no backup, no resupply, no help, and by the way there is 200 enemy, and 100 tanks. good luck, go get them tiger. I mean really! OK done ranting suggest a new ter added to logi. Called deployment specialist, 50 shield 25 armor and no bandwidth limitations. Any thoughts on this?

Game after game of stomps and virtually nothing I could do to change anything. I could drop a link, but as soon as I try to drive off the tank smashing my team and drop a hive to reload, it is gone. Unless you run with the pack and in a squad you can't impact the game. Well, maybe if I was a slayer who could run a 40 kill streak, but I am not. Because, that's why.

I would recommend making an engineer logi suit for deploying a proximity explosive field, and then make an AV logi suit that supports the bandwidth required to maintain your explosive field. If you've got no gun game, then swarms are the way to go. Just keep a hill between you and tanks and you'll do alright. Peek over the top to lock on unless they are laying down suppressive fire. I've never had problems with it and I don't see how placing lots of nanohives and uplinks could be a problem. There were already limits to the number that could be deployed, and they're just insertion/maintainence tools. Glowing, fragile tools. I usually go with ghost classes and I have no trouble sending an area dark. Horrifying? That's a strange way to spell "romantic".

Sounds like your having a bad day. You can change suits anytime you want and you will not loose any equipment, unless you exceed the bandwidth of your old suit. I am guessing that your one of the individuals that is used to being an omni soldier. Spawn in with logi suit, put out uplinks on your way to objectives to give fall back points. Then when you died or you found a supply depot you changed into something else scout, assault, or heavy. I am on the fence about BW and I plan on waiting about a week to see how it effects how I play. All BW is doing is forcing you to choose a speciality you can no longer be an omni soldier. all standard suits have a BW of 8 except heavy with 0 and Logi at 16. Thats 2 Drop links or 1 drop link and 1 hive, etc... If you are a logi then it really becomes a challenge managing your equipment. I respect that you CHOSE to play solo and don't want to make friends, but when you CHOSE this play style you are missing out on so many things that make joining squads better. You are playing a game that revolves around infantry tactics and controlling a battlefield. In a squad you are better able to assist the team as a whole because you have a better balance of equipment spread between more people, better communication, and more effective coordination of movement. As for casually playing? my corp squads like the "TEAM" aspect over COD individualism. hopefully CCP can fix PC and FW so you can play with yourself.

Its not fair to the squad though to have someone like me in it who doesn't even want to be in it. I dont have the time or the will to be a dedicated player. Im not interested in communicating and becoming "the best solider ever" blah blah. I got a few hours to kill and want to play a videogame. the only time i ever join a squad is when Im trying to get into Gal FW, and even at that, if its a squad thats talking or giving orders ill leave or turn off the voicechat and just do my own thing. Im not here to become part of some crazy cohesive fighting unit. For me, this is just a game.

I get squad invites all the time after games. Most i ignore, but if its from someone I saw doing good all game ill take the time to send them a letter saying "No thanks, I play solo". Im just not interested in squad play. Not the tactical aspect, not the social aspect, none of it. Its just not for me. The only time Ill ever squad up is when I want to get into Gal FW with less queue time. And even at that, ill tell them strait up that im just a solo player catching a ride to the match. They cannot and shouldn't count on me for anything. Sometimes I get lucky and its just 5 other solo players doing what im doing.

Grated I often run around in the proto version anyway, I can fit the same armaments on a amarr logi but when your chasing a fleeing tank with a PLC you need all the speed you can get. Which is why I prefer the scout suit for the job. /Faceplam

As a heavy, I need at least one hive to do anything long-term. Now I'm relegated to being close to a depot or trust someone else to drop hives close to where I need them. If I could carry one hive the game would be fun again. My FG and sniper range are all maxed so there's still targets but I'm way back by a depot. Another thing this does is force a heavy price when the depot is destroyed. I used to drop some hives in the area in case the team is getting creamed and has fallen all the way back. Without a depot they're doomed for the rest of the game. Yeah, not nearly as much fun.

I seriously couldn't laugh any harder at your post. I'm going to address these, You got the first part of what a logi does right, you seem confused about the second. See green berries are reliable and you can actually call them for assistance unlike blueberries. I shouldn't have to explain why that might help you survive in a logi suit. Sounds like the only one who is trying hard is you. You should want squads because not only does it make the game more enjoyable but also makes the tactical, chess like, squad based combat of dust shine. If you are a logi you do need them, your role is Dependant on them. If you are a logi, and complaining, and being told to join a squad and refusing you either don't know how to be a logi or you aren't a logi. Logis have a role now, if you want to use equipment like a logi then you have to BE a logi and be dedicated to the ROLE of a logi. What's that? "That nerfs solo play tho!" No sh-ít! Because now you can't be a slayer AND a logi, you can't just spam equipment and switch back to your scout or heavy. Dust and eve are both games of cooperation, you work with people, they don't have to be your best friends but two pairs of hands is better than one and can get more accomplished. Sounds like the only one who is trying hard is you. This made me ROFL... you know that the life expectancy of a logi goes down when he moves in a squad, do you? The only exception is a logi heavy squad in which you get picked up constantly and at least don't loose those suits all the time. If you run with Assaults, they will run ahead with nothing but kill kill kill in their eyes, and you will be on your own against any flanker (usually scouts who one shoot you in the back). They won't bother to bring a needle, or be so busy killing, that they can't be bothered to pick you up. I've been killed numerous times running in squads trying to protect my links or objects in the rear that got flooded with enemys, while our slayers wandered of to unimportant objectives or just searching for stragglers in the field. I make more money not running in a squad as logi, because I get killed less. And don't feel the urge to go for every objective that gets hacked behind us. Killers don't give crap about their logis, since they can bring everything themselves. So why care if the logi behind you gets wasted by scouts. Biggest reason I don't run squads anymore, is the acoustic waste that is spread over comms! I don't want to hear your effing family life nor your eating noises or your friggin headset noises because of bad hardware, static noises or bad bluetooth connections. All that gives me a headache. I also do not want to hear your newest effing thoughts about the game while in a match. The other thing is that I have my own ways of playing the game, and do not want to go for the strategies of somebody else, who has no idea of the capabilities of his squad, and constantly sends logis into slayer jobs and vice versa. It can be really cool, running in a squad where the leader knows about the roles, and sends his squaddies to do the right stuff, but usually it's just bad and non smart waste.... Finally, Bandwith has killed 50% of the matches for me, 100% if you count the games in where you are on the stomping side, which are no fun either, but at least you don't loose too much isk in them.

I've tried squads with voice and it ends up being two dorks f-bombing at each other. I don't want to hear that. I'll join a random squad if I decide to do some logi. Otherwise, I just want to blow up tanks and pick-off runners with my FG. It's a lot harder now having to run back and forth to a depot.

My comments may be harsh, but all im trying to do is move past the "just join a squad bro" as the solution to all problems. Im just showing that "join a squad" is entirely ruled out. This is so people can go back to the drawing board and come up with a better solution. All I want is equality. Im going to have to keep being harsh until people understand that running solo is a choice and not just a lack of knowledge about squads. Maybe you find me disrespectful, but the thing is, respect is a 2 way street, and i haven't gotten any in regards to my solo choice, so im not keen to give any out. All playing solo, it's a shame the rest of the blue berries couldn't hold any of the other points because the red berries were bleeding clones. Anyway I haven't ran logi for a while, been stabbing folks badly with nova knives. What I'm trying to say is logis and bandwidth have some issues, but anyone who says they are a waste of time is doing it wrong. Stop trying to deploy everything in one hit. You don't need a squad to make a difference BUT it does help, especially as a good logi is a force multiplier and can make a difference even when loosing. Don't get me wrong a good team will mess up your day regardless. If you really want to help the Logi class look for Cross Atu s thread and make a contribution on that.
