Now the min scout can just bypass damps altogether and speed tank. Yeah, we'll see what difference that 5m warning makes while I'm running at 10m/s.

Now the min scout can just bypass damps altogether and speed tank. Speed tank for what? So it can be seen from 100m away and get insta dropped? You are obviously playing speed tanks wrong...

They cannot achieve 10m (unless it's a logi) which means that I will probably get to them before they see me.

You are obviously never been in a PC. A Proto scanner will pick you up from a mile away and no weapon will hesitate to drop you in under a second. BTW- Aim Assist ruins the whole "Speed tank is viable" argument you guys come up with. True, I never have played PC. It sounds much too boring. I only ever run speed tanked Min suits (including my sentinel).
I have understood for quite some time what the consequences of getting caught are, and so I do my best to avoid getting spotted, and when scanned I usually try to escape the area.

Maybe you are the only one having that problem.... I'm speed tanking Amarr suits and having a wondrous time.
Speed tank a minmatar scout, run out of PG, not hide from simple scanners, use standard weapons on a proto suit, have a worthless cloak because everyone and their mother can pick you up with scanners. It doesn't work against good players. Maybe in pubs, but when you get into a competitive environment, everything that usually works and is funny against starterfits doesn't roll over so well when you verse good knowledgeable players. hell, I could go into a pub match and do good with melee but does it mean it's actually good and viable, no.... Cry me a river brother...... Good players do well regardless of what they use and don't have to make up excuses. False. Against bad players they do good. When good players meet good players, the one with the better fit usually wins. Example, herpy derpy decided to run a minmatar scout that ran 11m/s (Gasp), he runs into Derpy Herpy using a Prototype Amarr Scout with 2 complex precision enhancers and range amplifiers. Herpy Derpy doesn't see the Amarr Scout around the corner and runs straight into his super charged viziam ScR. Derpy Herpy saw Herpy Derpy coming from a mile away. Herpy Derpy continues using his fit, he is a good player, and usually goes 40-0 against starter fits, Derpy Herpy continues to use his fit and is also a good player that goes 40-0 against starter fits. In the end Derpy Herpy kills Herpy Derpy 12 times that match in his expensive suit and makes his cry. In this situation Herpy Derpy a good player was using a fit, according to Adamance logic he should have done good that match but Derpy Herpy was using a better fit and destroyed Herpy Derpy all match. Yes, I suppose there are always the worst case scenarios.

Dude it's pretty freaking boring. Just a bunch of up jumped ass hats fighting over the high ground on each map, using the same generic strategies and fits that were determined to be the best. You gain nothing special by holding districts, very little real EVE interaction, and your districts are in the ass end of nowhere...Molden Heath. If you play well in PC, you gain respect from players *shrugs* What do I care about the respect of a bunch of people I have never met.
I'm here to have fun, regardless of what anyone thinks.

Gotta love a player who has spent nearly his entire existence in DUST playing PUB's and has this opinion. It's the very definition of ignorance... And they think it is defensible.. The best is when you say "The Same generic strategies and fits that were determined to be the best." I Wonder who determined? The best part is WHERE do these "Best fits" come from? Each hotfix and major content addition changes this so called "Best Fit" scenario... You will find most of the PC players warning about future changes giving those results with upcoming FOTM and theory crafting. Ever wonder where everyone sees and learns where the next FOTM is? Every Pub strategy... Even the lame fun ones... Come from PC.. I Wonder how boring Football gets running and practicing "the same generic set of strategies" "That were determined to be the best" Why would anyone want to play a competitive version of DUST with 15 of their friends vs another group of 16 mercenaries with the winner getting a big pile of ISK?... Let's go kill some starter fits in a PUB instead. Way more fun as you say. Since when was there a cohesive strategy in pubs?
I was never a fan of football.
I've never really cared what the FOTM fits were.
PC seems too serious for me really. The win has so much more value than in a pub that I would likely just get bogged down trying to win rather than really having fun.
Entertainment value is entirely subjective, it is impossible to be wrong unless you are trying to decide for someone else.
