Ammo. That's what makes the difference in EVE. Ammo has varieties that do different damage types. None do specific damage types except missiles. By picking and choosing ammo you can tailor attacks against certain racial ships.

Come on CCP, ammo for DUST. All do specific allotments of damage types. Scorch does primarily EM, with a small amount of Thermal. Conflag does an even mix of the two.
