In light of wanting to work for either Entertainment Weekly or Game Informer, I've been doing my own independent studying, research, and brainstorming. I've been thinking a lot about the video gaming industry and everything that it entails. Especially DUST, since it was my first MMO and, to this day, what I would consider to be the most enjoyable gaming experience I have had thus far. Not necessarily because of the game in and of itself, but because of the community and how we Mercs can affect Molden Heath without actually being physically in game. It's an opportunity for gamers to really be involved in the game. I'm working on creating a proposal and am in the process of developing my own video game. I can speak for myself, but I cannot speak for you guys! I'd like to create something that everyone can enjoy and look forward to in the future. With that, I have a series of questions for you guys. - What do you love about DUST 514? Why do you stick around? - Is it safe to say that you don't actually play DUST for the game itself? If you do in fact stick around for the game, why? - Would you still play DUST without the community? Without your friends, just for ________ (input whatever you listed as enjoying in the game) I would think that the big attraction for DUST is that your kills count towards building an image and buffing your Rep for not only yourself, but the benefit of your allies/teammates. - What physical aspects of DUST do you find attractive? What about the game mechanics, visual effects, gameplay, set-up do you like? - Vice Versa. What do you HATE about DUST 514 and why? What physical aspects of the game would you change and why? - Not including the community, what could be done to DUST where you'd actually enjoy playing the game? - Dust aside, what's you're perfect game? What is a video game that you have found yourself so enthralled with that you couldn't put the controller down to save your life? What would you consider to have been your best gaming experience? Why? What physical and/or mental aspects of that game drew you in that you connected so well? PC is very unique and I also love the progression and deep customization system. PC is without a doubt, the sole reason I stuck around for as long as I did and is why I'm considering buying another PS3. Taking and holding land and playing against some of the best players in the game and competing just makes me feel like all the grinding in the early levels really paid off. -I like DUST itself. I enjoy playing pubs and running around OHKing people with a shotgun or slaughtering a squad with grenades or a remote, or even dominating with a tank. However, I couldn't do this all day and wouldn't play DUST without it's overrarching concept of Eve and PC. -No, I wouldn't play without the community. They're what's made this otherwise dull game, such a fun experience. -I find PC attractive, and I also like the concept of dropships and the tank turrets they had. A lot of it felt unique and not much copied off of, I also love the satisfying feeling of getting a kill in this game. -I hate the unbearable lag, I hate the sounds, the graphics could be better, I hate the QQers on the forums, I hate Fatal Absolution and I hate Ghostt Shadoww. Also, getting killed by snipers or LAVs, like what the ** bro. -Nothing really, I already enjoyed it enough. I think most of the work that they could of done, is already done. -I think Halo 3 really hit a sweet spot for me when I played. The competitive skill-based multiplayer, the forge mode and all the cool ** you could do with custom games really expanded the whole experience for me. I played Halo 3 for maybe as long as I played DUST, and then my Xbox 360 died and I got a PS3 and never turned back. -I mean, pretty much the same as the above. I just saw people not participating and if that's truly what you want to do, have at it. Some of those questions are really similar, though. Only loyal to the republic.

They could make Legion for the PS4 as well, so that console gamers don't feel like we wasted our time on a company that bailed on us in favor of a PC exclusivity security blanket. - Dust aside, what's you're perfect game? I typically play single player story-based games, although those don't seem to exist on the AAA level anymore. I'll play games regardless of genre if it's got a good story, but multiplayer games tend to throw that down the drain at the first opportunity. - What would you consider to have been your best gaming experience? Why? What physical and/or mental aspects of that game drew you in that you connected so well? Probably Fallout New Vegas or one of the Bioshock games. Fallout New Vegas being for the faction philosophy, interesting plotlines, and memorable characters. Bioshock games being for the intriguing settings and the stories being works of art. Sadly these types of story-driven games are driven out of the AAA market, replaced with garbage like Gone Home and Dear Esther, indie games that are too lazy to actually include gameplay, opting instead to create walking simulators with exposition thrown in.
