I Mean, when you go and play battlefield.. Everything I shoot at dies in 1-2 seconds.
Then you come to DUST 514 where I Put on an high tech dropsuit with shields and regenerative armor. Skill out the character with millions of skill points amplifying movement speed, health points ETC...
Why should we have an intense fight where both mercenaries are fighting for 20-30 seconds?
If I see a Mercenaries back.. They should die before they have a chance to turn around, They only loose isk each time they die. |

It's obviously insane to think that being a moving target in an engagement would reduce your incoming damage.
In Forum land it makes PERFECT sense that people will always be behind boxes and walls hiding and exchanging fire here and there.
And if they meet in the few open area's on DUST's maps? They should obviously just stand still and shoot each other... Moving around and trying to reduce incoming damage wouldn't happen in real life as everyone on these forums say. It's OBVIOUS or so these Forums say.
How Dare people move and make me reacquire aim.

Obviously when professional football players and sport stars around the world take up ballet to be more agile and intellegent on their feet.
It Wouldn't make sense for highly trained specialists soldiers to have similar training. Let alone in the Future in DUST With Immortal Clone Soldiers and Scout's Running at 11 Meters a second.
Like 11 meters a Second is.. 40 km/h. Obviously it should be easy to hit that zooming around me at 10 meters away.
If Not? CCP Should Give me an Aim Assist Module to fit on my suit and make it easy to hit for me.
It's the only way... asking someone to aim at something moving is just to much for this community to handle.
Or Every time you fire your gun? You can't move. Kinda like what Pyrex wants for the Heavy.. Straffing Heavies are so hard to hit. Nerfing movement is the only answer. |

You guys are both buying forum propaganda based on bullshit.
There is movement acceleration on both the Controller and Keyboard.
When you press a button or move a joystick to move... There is an acceleration curve to get to max speed.
This has been said and confirmed by developers countless times.
But taking cover? Totally legit.. There is hardly any open spaces in DUST devoid of any vegetation, boxes, walls and places you can generally take cover.
We should obviously make this game like GTA 5 where you can put your back against a wall and stick your gun around the corner and fire....... Wait a minute..... It doesn't work like this.... Maybe they intended people to move around? |

DUST isn't a real life representation of a FPS.... There are games for that.
DUst is a Futuristic FPS built in the New Eden Galaxy.
We have regenerative armor, Shields... We have suits that move at over 11 meters per second... Which is over 40 Kilometers an hour.
If you have a suit moving around at 40km/h in CQC..... Is it more realistic that they will move around faster then you could spin around and acquire accurate aim?
This isn't an opinion based topic.
When a Immortal Mercenary who has died thousands of times on the battlefield has the ability to move at 20-40km/h with Shield and armor providing defense for the first few hits... They will use that to negate or reduce incoming damage. Specially when someone starts shooting at their back.
Even if it is simply Juke'ing out someones aim or prediction to where you are about to move to at 20-40km/h... It makes MORE sense then someone being able to track and hit them accurately..
In DUST.... There is more map without any cover then there is map with cover. There are places in DUST's map that you could fit entire CoD maps into... and it has nothing... Not a rock, a peice of grass or even a box.
This "Cover" Shooter game that people come on these forums and talk about... Doesn't exist.. This game was never built with that in mind.
If it was a cover based game? We would have mechanics like GTA 5.... where you can put your back up against a wall... peak around corners... Sick your gun out... DUST is not built like this in any way what so ever.
