The new remote nerf is very sneaky...in my speed tanked assault, its almost as bad as the cloak.
I personally am beginning to think that RE's are a bit too skilless, simply because of how easy it is to speed remote somewhere, and pop everyone, but if they are going to be nerfed, I think we need to look at heavies first, and how they are impossible to take out without a double or triple team of shotgunners or a remote explosive.
The remote explosive is a counter to heavies--its the only suit that is slow enough for the remote to work.
I like the idea of nerfing it, but if this occurs, heavies will need to be severely nerfed, so that gun game alone can kill them.
Ive said it before, and Ill say it again--if you want assaults to be go to slayer suits, they need to be able to survive 1812894 hp Sentinels with 900 DPS death rays.

Are you referring to this thread? This kind of nerf does not hurt "frisbee throwing" RE spammers because their primary intent is to spam REs, not engage with a weapon. Hopefully it is just a bug and not a silent nerf (one without community feedback). |

Bait and switch remote technique! Draw attention of kill chasing heavy into a pre setup remote field. Remotes on entrances wor too. Stopping the logi train is tough I know. Range fire, flanking, and core grenades work wonders as well.
Gallente assault w AR needs to carry core grenades, Flay lock pistols, scanners, and the breach AR. May not work well on heavies, but the logies will hate you! Kill the logi in close, and when the heavy gets you atleast you left him vulnerable for your caldari counterpart to rail him to death! Providing said caldari isn't in CQC mode that is?!
Logi trains tend to climb in closed areas in ambush. Mass drivers do well at killing off logies! A dead logi is a dead heavy when it comes to the train.

Gun game alone can kill a Sentinel. Good gun game includes knowing how and when to engage any given enemy; sentinels are easy pickings at long range and still killed at medium range with little risk if you aren't stupid. The problem is that most of the time people engage Sentinels on their terms at short range whether by map design or by their own stupidity.

exactly, killing heavies has always been about engaging them outside their kill zone. At 30+ meters even the militia AR outdamages the HMG. If ur trying to go head up with heavies in CQC ur supposed to fail horribly. |

There is a reason that sentinels are so prevalent in PC.
Thats also the reason why speedy assaults and scouts with remotes is the new counter-heavy meta.
Which I hate BTW, despite the fact that it benefits me more than most. Its stupid that the only way to kill a tanked heavy sitting on an objective is to use more than one person, or RE chuck all over the place and hope that a heavy is caught in the blast.
Your statement says that good gun game involves knowing when to engage an enemy sentinel. However, it is very VERY easy to make it so that there is no good time to engage an enemy sentinel.

they should be for vehicles only, not one hit kill no skill spam weapons for bad players to get easy kills without having to compete against the other player, utilising zero gungame, tactics or aiming.

and i can solo heavies with a viziam, i don't know what people's problem is with them.
the breach AR is destroying heavies right now, prof 5 and 4 complex damage mods, they will turn and try to run away.

RE's are used to kill all infantry not just heavies. A scout with RE's has great scans to help with his RE spam. Flux grenades still let the RE explode instead of disarming like it does with ALL other equipment so really the only thing the scout has to is just drop and wait.
