I wish DUST players got the same level of respect from CCP that EVE does. its such a huge contrast between the two games, it feels like a difference of shopping in Harrods (EVE) to shopping in Wal-Mart (DUST514) i'm hoping that once its on PC and the hassle and redtape of developing for a consoles online store is removed the game can actually be freed up and allow to progress. For games liek this Consoles are nothing but a restriction, Microsoft and Sony and even Nintendo really lack a sense of adventure when it comes to independant devs on the online stores and lack a bit of imagination. i know a lot of people think Legion is death of the FPS side of EVE but i think it'll be theonly time we'd actually see more rapid progress without CCP having to run to sony for clearence on a patch. least with EVE and Legion on the same infrastructure it should be a helluva lot more smooth sailing.
one thing though is i think CCP need to limit their development, i think they spread themselves too thin by workign on EVE, then DUST514, then World of Darkness and then Valkyrie, for such a small company 4 games was too much and i often imagine what DUST514 would have turned out like with that extra $20m and extra 56 staff working on it that was wasted with World of Darkness

Re-inventing it for Legion is too time consuming and resource intensive. Something CCP has never been good at managing for the long haul. It would take them around 7 years minimum, at the rate they work things out. Hilmar will lay them all off by then, because PS3 Dust will no longer be generating income and they will simply be an unattractive money sink at that point. Just like WoD was.
On the other hand, moving Dust to PS4, the actual existing game that isn't vaporware like WoD and Legion, will continue to generate income and draw in a massive playerbase of PS4 owners who want quite literally anything to play that they can get their hands on. That would give them a launch base to do whatever long term stuff they want to do on PC, as well as a stronger system to try out new things on. Totally agree Himiko.....with this new version of Dust and added improvements for PS4 system, I think this game would be revived.
couldn't be more wrong. consoles have far too many restrictions for online store games. with PC CCP will be free to do things as and when they like with no one ot answer to but themselves and the players. Also, there are over 500k subs to EVE, not all them have consoles and many wouldn't dream of buying a console. having the oppertunity to download Legion on a machine they're familiar and have a preference too, and that many believe is the 'best' for gaming then Legion is likely to flourish on PC than it would on consoles. I've always been a console gamer all my life but with consoles Sony, MS, Nintendo are quite restrictive about their online markets as well as the security needed for DUST/Legion to connect with EVE, it was one of the reasons reported that MS wouldn't allow it on 360 (same as with the Portal 2 PC to console connections) having both Legion and EVE on the same system with same/similar coding should enable it to succeed and build both playerbase and reputation to then perhaps move over to ps4 and/or XB1 in 3-4yrs time similar to how Planetside 2 is.

seeing as DUST was released almost 2yrs ago on a console which has "80million units sold" as CCP loved to tell us and without any game of its kind on any other console, tell me how successful dust514 has been when it had the whole market to itself. and its not so much developing for a console its all the redtape that comes with it. Timesplitters Rewind had the same issue that the developers had to wait about a year for aproval from both Crytek to allow them to use the Cryengine on PS4 and then Sony to say wether or not they can put it on the PS4 or not. the same also applies to the Unreal engine. its not simply a case of CCP saying "oh hey we're gonna make Legion for PS4 now" they have to meet criteria from both Epic games to allow usage of Unreal engine on a console and then if they get the green light from Epic games they then have to goto Sony as convince them about moving a game which has failed to impress on the PS3 and sell it on the PS4 PSN. PC however they have the licence for the engine to develop it and to release it they just put the EXE on a website and there you go, they can have LEgion out in a matter of a few months
CCP can then work at distancing Legion from DUST514 and the PS3 version, which lets face it hasn't had the most glamourous reveiws in the industry. and begin to establish Legion as an FPSMMO that they originally billed DUST as, once they (hopefully) build up a better reputation and playerbase they can then begin to start approaching Sony and MS again with Legion when DUST has been partially forgotten about as that 'bad' FPSMMO demo on the PS3.
