Just curious.
I read an obscene amount and I'm always looking for new things to try.
I'm currently reading the Temeraire series.

Currently
The Odyssey and the Aeneid
Following that will be
-The Epic of Gilgamesh and the Tibetan Book of the Dead
More casually I read (and loved)
-The Inheritance Cycle (fantastic book for young teens) -The Stormlight Archives -The Dark Tower Series -Assembled Works of H.P Lovecraft -Wild Magic from the Immortals Quartet (Tamoria Pierce) -Mortal Engines -Sword of Shanara (for a really interesting take on a classic fantasy trillogy)

I'm just about to start the Wheel of Time series after finishing the Ciaphas Cain series (great if you're into Warhammer 40k)

The Horus Heresy Novels are also good. Mechanicum is my favourite. Adeptus Mechanicus kick serious ass.

It's a shame he died mid way through and had to have his son take over. Not to suggest he did a bad job but it really is disappointing the original author could not complete his great work.

If you like wheel of time, you might try looking into the various works of Brandon Sanderson.
The Stormlight Archive is something I quite enjoyed and it looks set to become a very long series. It's apparently going to be 10 books and Words of Radiance alone is over 1,000 pages.

I've been on a weird older Stephen King kick lately, I'm most of the way through Insomnia right now, last recent book of his I read was Dr.Sleep... nah too bad, kinda hard to write a sequel to one of the best horror stories ever tho.
Spademan wrote:I'm just about to start the Wheel of Time series after finishing the Ciaphas Cain series (great if you're into Warhammer 40k) The wheel of time is a great series don't worry about the new author taking over for the last couple books he does a great job. It's definitely one of those series where you get sad at the end since you've spent so much time with all the characters, could just be me tho since I had been reading them on and off since I was in elementary school.

I feel sort of crushed when I finish a long series.
The Federation is not a defined region of space, of planets, of mountains, rivers, or woods. It is a vision.

If you like It try reading the Dark Tower.
There is a specific passage towards the later sections of the book where King breaks the 4th wall for a moment an asks you if you really want to know what is going to happen.
I still don't know to this day what happened to Roland...... and for some reason having avidly read those books day and night start to finish I'm happy with the story as I know it.

I was looking at The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
Haven't read it yet, looking to head to the library eventually.
That, and I read Heart of Darkness last year. Very good, but definitely needs more... thought to read. Kinda old, so the wording is different.

I think I'm on the third one, very weird series. also I could be wrong but I think I heard somewhere he's writing another.
I don't know anyone else but if you've got a stereo at work try listening to audiobooks instead of the radio or music, myself and a couple coworkers just pick something that we're all curious about. way better than hearing the same ten songs over and over every day.

Also I'm huge fan of Alastair Reynolds.
Other than sci-fi, I enjoyed Don Winslow's Kings of Cool and Savages very much.
