Seen the video before but not the concept art. That's a nice looking Gallente fighter.

I hadn't actually seen that video. I get the impression though that higher velocity fighters would require much larger battlegrounds than we have now. And I wonder how AV would work with them. Good luck getting a swarm lock on that.

1.9 models was created in 2013... Also we have 2 LAV that not in game, but we seen models, some instalations, 2 fighters, CreoDron delivering ship and etc.
I think DCCP (dust CCP) just realized one day, that UE 3 doesn't support large space with 64+ players... PS3 just dies... even now

I love the tank in the Concept art. It-¦s so much better than the present Caldari Tank.
P.S. Bottom left corner. Also fighter looks great as well.

the maps are more than large enough to accomodate larger battlegrounds, and pushing the redline back sufficiently would hopefully reduce the effect that redline snipers and redline vehicles play can have when the redline is in close proximity to the objectives

Haerr, with 16 players, larger maps would make for a worse play experience. As it is, our maps often feel way too large and expansive for the size of battle taking place on them.

Well you say that but having 16v16 vehicle fights in dust would be pretty epic! As it is now the placement of objectives and the design of the complexes leaves a lot to wanted from vehicle play. We even have a game mode that completely disallows vehicle play. Is there really something wrong in wanting a battleground/game mode where the focus is on vehicle play?

Since vehicles have few or no well-defined gameplay roles, and were probably added to the game solely because they "looked cool"?

Is the problem for more vehicle/vehicle variants being added to the game that they would have to fit into a 16v16 infantry shooter or is that there currently are no game modes/gameplay designed specifically to cater to vehicle play?
If Dust has no capability of supporting game mode(s) that cater (ever so slightly) to vehicle play then the subject of vehicles is pretty much closed. (For me that is.)
If there were game modes specifically for infantry play, vehicle play, and combined play, would that help or would that be a wasted effort because of PS3+UE3 related performance concerns or time constraints?

Much bigger maps and 64 vs 64 (ok 32 vs 32?), then this type of vehicle play will come into it's own.
Oh, and forget swarms. You would hopefully be introducing a whole new set of new and more varied AV weapons.

Lol, more like "Vehicles have their roles, but we don't know how to design a proper geound combat game and instead just gave up and made an arena rumble playground game. Here, here's a cloak. Easy mode infantry and done."

I would say more vehicles/vehicle variants require that vehicles have defined gameplay roles. And that really doesn't have anything to do with match size. (Except for maybe fighters, because they move too fast, but there's a whole lot of technical reasons I doubt we'll ever seen those.) But vehicles do need to fit into the game we have, not fit into the game we want someday.
I don't know if you'd ever see a vehicles only game mode, because I am not even sure how that would work in a game where everyone can get in and out of their vehicles. I suppose you could do a Titanfall-esque "Last Vehicle Standing" mode, where everyone spawns in a tank or something (and you could get out, but it'd be dumb), and there's no respawns, but that's not very New Eden-y, and you'd need some sort of fit selection at spawn for vehicles.

Small blasters. They need to be good. So good that they are the best way to kill infantry.
The primary tactic for controlling a outside area of the map should be to get a tank, some small blasters, some gunners, and murder everyone.
It would then be extremely important that you have superior large turret capability on your team to stop the enemy from bringing their small blasters to bear. |

Just make a separate Ambush mode without vehicle limits. Then only Pilots and AV would chose that game mode. You need to be able to chose though. It can't be random and force people in like the Ambush/Ambush OMS we have now.

Skirmish where the null cannons are only capturable by vehicles.
It can be done, just play the hypothetical game and remove/change one variable at the time to see how the game would play. (In this case, how would Dust play out if Infantry had to rely on vehicles instead of vice versa in a game mode.)

Why would you want to reintroduce a game mode setting that has been universally accepted as completely terrible? o_o

Yup that's a MBT I could get behind. Our HAV just looking at them are compressed and ...... whereas having spent a lot of time and one too many vacations out to Normandy remember most Tanks to be almost twice my height especially the large Infantry Tanks like the Cromwell and the Tiger.

Why the hell would I as a vehicle player want to engage in this mode.
Vehicle Balance is garbage.
Armour Tanks would be alpha'd off the map instantly, ADS would reign supreme with no effort, and Jihad LAV would ******* ruin the ground game meaning that that only viable HAV is a spiked or sponge Gunlogi.........
