I cant handle the insane kick it has. Its freaking ridiculous. I guess at range a little closer then regular RR range but outside of SMG range? I dont understand it. I just specced into it a week ago i think. Where the hell do you use it?

It is the primary weapon I use on my Scout. The kick is pretty insane, even in ADS (seems worse than it was pre-Charge nerf - kick reduction; before I hardly noticed ADS kick) but the weapon is still pretty lethal. I generally only use Caldari weapons. In fact, aside from HMG at level 3 I can only use Caldari Weapons aside from Dren or Militia. I like how the Rail Rifle 'feels', it is one of the few guns in this game that 'feel good' to shoot in my opinion. The Rail's current Charge makes it pretty much unusable but the ARR was unaffected. Especially since the ammo increase, it has done me fairly well.
It has good range so I can sneak behind entire squads and set them up in a cross fire. At close range, it is still fairly lethal in hipfire though I try my best to get the drop on everyone either at a range that most benefits my weapon choice or right in their face when they are completely oblivious so they are dead before the kick goes off. I like it.

There is honestly no situation where the ARR makes sense for me right now. The RR is much, much more accurate down sight, has more range, and feels like it has less ADS kick, or at least the ARR's ADS kick makes it pretty inaccurate down sight. The ARR has less charge and, it seems, a bit less hipfire kick and spread, but that's just enough to make it less horrible hipfiring, not enough to make me ever want to hipfire it over pulling out an SMG. So there's no reason to ever, ever, ever use it. |

I also feel that the ARR's ADS kick has been increased. It feels like the old magsec now but not as bad. Really hard to stay on target and already dealing with the iron sight. If the ADS kick has been increased I think the first step is to undo that, then reduce the min/max hipfire recoil and dispersion, then tone down its range just enough to balance its hipfire buff. |

After only a quarter of the clip it becomes "inaccurate"
I try to compensate by firing in bursts of approx 10, which makes it controllable but having to spool up each time...just puts me at a huge disadvantage

I use it when I'm assaulting a point with my calmando sense I fill people just walk away from my RR. Then I just krin at who ever gets in my face.
CalFW roleplayer I play for no one but the state. I rep no corp nor channel and they don't rep me Im a solo calfw vet.

With the recent buffs to the ARR, I've gone back to my long lost love.
It's a killer at medium to long distances. It's pretty good up close too, but only for a few shots, then I've found that you either have to pull out your sidearm for a shot or two, or duck behind cover and pause, to let the kick die down.
I put it back on my Cal Scout with 2 damage mods and one range amp.
That said, I typically only run the suit on outside sockets -- I much prefer the BrAR in closer/city maps. |

So I do put up with the ARR's senseless kick, but if I was outdoors I would feel my RR and Magsec combo would work better.

Lol, I guess some people are going to have to get used to the RR being like a real full auto weapon. You know what they ought to add? The visual jarring that also occurs when you fire a machine gun. Even more fun would be the deafness that follows firing any rifle or machine gun.
Easy fix. Aim low, fire in bursts and let the kick bring the barrel up to the head area of an opponent.

MyGLUTAC still works. We are trying to convince Ratatti to make the ARR the Caldari answer to the Gallente Assault Rifle, as in viable in CQC, but still with a bit of range since it is still a Rail Rifle.
You can't have the best of both worlds, so in order to make it viable at close range, it must not be as good at long range. I have seen a suggestion to shorten its range to 60m. I also think it should have iron sites with very little zoom, to make it difficult to use it's full range capabilities.
The kick does need to be reduced if it is supposed to be the Caldari short range viable rifle.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

You gotta Push down slightly on the right stick while firing. It's the same way you counteract any kick its just far more extreme lol. Such is the nature of the high powered rifle that doesn't overheat in your hand.
PS. Dont try for head shots aim center mass and try to keep it on center mass. If you're lucky it will climb into a head shot while you're trying to keep it steady lol.
The ARR is basically the Magsec with more damage and range if you are familiar with using the magsec that is. |

I DONT.
I've been using my Ck.0 assault a LOT lately and i prefer using the Kaalakiota RR than the Ishuk ARR EVEN at CQ situations.
Its, just unusable.. both at med ranges and CQ...
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

They tried to push people into the ARR by nerfing the standard version but what CCP fails to realize is the weapons in a pretty bad place. You get the similar range with a CR and a faster DPS.
Plus I'm not sure what it is about the iron sights but I have trouble hitting people who are slightly behind cover.
If you're not wearing proto, you're doing it wrong.

Man that's really weird and here I thought the ARR was pretty OP I just shred people with it in my Caldari Assault.... All I can say is to reiterate aim center mass and push back (Or forward in my case as I play with the Y-Axis Inverted on aiming). You get good with that though and you may not think the AR is so bad anymore once you learn to stay on target lol. Same with aiming down the sight only point the rifle sight where both sides rise up around your target while you aim for their lower torso/pelvis. |

MyGLUTAC still works. the key is understanding that the kick in ADS is just visual and all the shots land where your pointing the iron sight. use as a run n gun weapon but a little outside AR range. keep your targets between 50 and 60m.
