What if regulators gave a small percentile bonus to shields? I mean since shield tanking is getting nerfed again why not reward dedicated shield tanks over dual tankers. Cal sents and medium frames more specifically since the bonus would be quite small.
Basic - 2% shield bonus
Adv - 5% shield bonus
Proto - 7% shield bonus
These of course would be subjected to stacking penalties, and should those bonuses be too minimal they could be kicked up to 5-7-10.
Thoughts?

Quad Extender/Regulators on an Assault mk.0 would be insane. It'd be a CalSent running at ~7.5 m/s. Do you really want those things around?

SHIELD Regulators. They decrease the Recharge Delay.
Interesting Idea, I like the idea, but the numbers need tweaking.
STD/EHN/COM 1/2/3% Shield HP bonus, along side the recharge delay as current. Sounds ok to me.
I would say Armor shouldn't get a new High Slot mod; they already got Damage mods to their credit.

I know. I'm calling the mk.0 a CalSent because of stacking Extenders and Regulators giving a huge boost to both Shield eHP and dropping the delays to insanely low levels while maintaining a smaller Hitbox and way better Speeds. While this would be fun, it'd push CalSents even further into obscurity.

The bonus would apply yo the dropsuit's base shield, not the product of core skills. The min assault only has around 240 base shield does it not? The shield bonus is minimal especially if dropped to meeko's suggested numbers. I fail to see the matar gaining amything significantly noticable over either caldari.

Ahh. Sorry. I have no eyes, and didn't really see that. I just say "Blah blah blah CalSent Running 7.5m/s blah blah" And went "What?"

i dont support because thats not what they do in eve.
however theyre are little ones you can use in eve that are like. sacrifice some cap and get better shield times and more shield strength.
im a cap advocate. but it could be altered to cpu/pg i guess. sacrfice cpu and pg for empty slots and get a bonus to shield hp, regen, and delay time. let me go thumb through the shield modules.

they could do the power diagnostic mod which boosts powergrid, shield hp, shield recharge. we dont have capacitor so that bonus could go to regen delay. and a little cpu. like a small across the board buff for shield suits if you use one.
theres always the shield resistance mods. that can be added in. and give shield boosters for you to activate with r2 /Slap
Get. Off. My. Console.

Right because we should completely discredit a system that has worked on PC for the better part of 11 years, solely because it's on a console. Gotcha.

The only other thing I would want shield regulators to do is give a % of shields a damage threshold so that minimal damage will do not reset the delay.
For example, a minimum of 20HP damage would be needed to incur the shield recharge delay.
This would greatly compliment the minmatar and caldari intended playstyle. |

That would nullify the SMG against any pure shield tanker, along with any other weapon out of their optimal range.

You'd have to be blind to not see the analogy for mana.
It's EVELogic for the sake of EVELogic. It MAY work for vehicles, but having shield boosters for infantry men is gonna be bad. We already have to focus on the aiming quite hard, now add having to hit a button for shields if you run active shields. It's going to be another token thing that gets added for no sake other then looking like we belong w/EVE.
FPS games need you to focus on the task at hand (shooting dudes), and unless it takes 5-8 secs to kill, you'll die faster then you could use it.
In EVE, the average TTK is somewhere near a minute for small frigates. You have time to remember to turn on the webs and reload the guns.

its eve logic because this is eve dust 514 and eve logic applies.
shield boosters work pretty much like an active armor repper last time i checked. iirc it just improves your passive shield recharge.
since in eve shields are supposed to rap passively,
dust is the opposite of eve for no reason and it messed up balance in this game irreparably.

it should if its good enough for tanks. it also brings the game closer to having passive repping shields. which is how shields are supposed to be.
shields repair on their own. armor shouldnt.

20 is way too high it would have to be tweaked, I could fully recharge tank my ck.0 and become immune to hmgs. A base threshold should exist regardless to stop those dickweed players shooting you from 120m away and stopping your regin.
