What would it do to heavies with their only real counter removed from the game?
That asked, it is an interesting thought experiment that I would change slightly: What if there was no cloak tomorrow and EWAR didn't provide directional information, and heavies were nerfed a bit against other suits?
I'd think we'd have a much more enjoyable game. Scouts and Heavies with the occasional logi/assault/commando shouldn't be the end game in Dust. |

Not a good heavy, you can't. Maybe a noob or someone with little gun game...even a halfway competent heavy melts medium suits.
Your best chance as an assault/logi is to outnumber them -- or perhaps use a OKH weapon like a plasma cannon or RE.
Medium suits simply don't have enough DPS or EHP to stand a chance. |

Hakyou is right, scouts are the only real counter -- or more heavies -- and that's exactly what you see in PC where everyone already knows this. I used to be able to melt MLT - ADV heavies in seconds with my Kaal RR, protos were more of a challenge. That ended with they nerfed it to hell.
With what suit? Certainly not a scout or a medium suit -- unless the heavy is bad. Really bad. Like running between the bridge map outside points bad.
In virtually any encounter within its range, the heavies double EHP and DPS melts your suit, and it's not even a contest in a STD or ADV suit much less a proto, in my experience. |
