As the title suggests, this is a thread about suggesting to make it so you get extra points for defending an objective. In the majority of the games I've played, one/both teams will capture the 1-2 closest points, then basically rotate or randomly fight over one point. By rotate, I mean, they will go after C, my team will run by the guys capturing it, go capture E, realize C has been hacked, run back to unhack, fail, hack it, realize C has been fully captured, and that the enemy hacked it and run to go attempt to save that, and well you get the idea. There are very few players who will attempt to defend a point that is already captured because there isn't really any reward to it. So the suggestion is simple, while you, or the person you're shooting, is within a certain amount of meters (Say, 50) of an objective that your team owns, you get +60 points for killing them, instead of +50. It could be furthered to give +55 points for defending a hacked (but not yet captured) point as well. So that's the suggestion. |

The squad defend order is for the whole squad though and rewards the SL as well. It also virtually never stays at a capped point (unless it is Dom and even then rarely.)
I like the idea op. +1 from me +like from me.
But I am biased because I am a responsible team player who will be the only 1 or 1 of 2 who stay behind while the rest of the squad (and the circle) go to take the next point. I would like a little extra WP appreciation for biting the bullet of boredom and patrolling my little area for reddots. |

Defend order should be restricted to structure (null canon, CRU, depotGǪ) and maybe vehicles.
Orders on players remove any defensive behavior and only makes this game looks like a Benny Hill show. |

I like this idea. Not enough people play defense and as a result games are often like a dog chasing its tail. Liked. |

+1 Totally true, When I start seeing my team leaving objectives behind I'll just sit back and defend because I realize enemies are coming. But the same is true the other way around because I've had matches where the team only defends the one point, never progressing to another objective. I do believe they should give more incentive to defending a point, seeing there is plenty of incentive to attack.

This complete isn't a bump at all.....no no, you're imagining things. I'm going to assume the squad order is limited to, if you're playing in/with a squad. Lot of good that does the people who don't run with squads.
There should also be a message, or notification somewhere, at some point in the game, that when you walk near a captured, but contested objective, it pop's up and goes "HEY GUY WITH A GUN! You can unhack this" or something along those lines. I know you get more points for letting it be hacked and then re-hacking it, but that can cost you the game. The amount of people who just walk by these things and then, the second the thing turns orange, turn around to go hack it, is annoying. |
