Has been there since beta.
Can be done with a couple of scouts + knives/sg or even two or three galmando + sg & pc.
The second option is scary and the third option is hilarious.

As someone that runs heavy HMG, I've long thought that heavies shouldn't be able to drive/pilot vehicles. Think LAV + HMG is bad? Try HAV + HMG, though admittedly that's not as bad as it once was but it's still annoying as fck when you're about to take down a tank from up close only to have a Sentinel pop out and gun you down. It'd be one thing if it was a passanger cause then it'd be teamwork but most tanks I've seen lately still only fit the main turret
Of course solo heavies will complain about not being able to get to places quickly but the heavy isn't meant to be solo. So to those people, Squad The Fck Up.

Heavies are heavy and should weigh down the lav making it slower and unable to traverse rough terrain.

I hate people that do that, BUT,i recommend you train proto grenades and use Lai Dai packed on them. LAV goes boom and heavy too +90 points

My favorite counter to the Heavy LAV is standing on high ground with a swarmer.
Granted, that's not really solving the problem. How about we just get an animation for entering/exiting vehicles?
They hop out: You got about .75s of free time to shoot. Wanna hop back in? another 0.75s.
Congrats, you now have an extra 1.5s to shoot him. Should do the trick.

CCP has often said that they are well aware of the problem, and it is one of their priorities in terms of things to look at.
The problem is, that so far they haven't found a good way to fix the problem, as the fixes involve the merc going into limbo when exiting the vehicle.
Hopefully they can find a good solution.

Add a 2 second delay before you can fire when you got out of any vehicle -> Problem solved.
Take out all forms of scans and you'll see how great Dust can be.
Scrubs will cry, good players will love it.

Ya, but heavies should have limited mobility. Making it so that ONLY 1 heavy can ride in a LAV and only in the passenger seat would force teamwork -- or less heavies roaming the map. Both of which would be cool. |

its "working as intended" i would say your situational awareness may be not as good as you think if a fatty can drive up to you and blap you..
maybe next time it happens you switch to AV and troll his booty till he gives up on trying to be a "murder taxi"
now think about this.. it could be a scout doing murdertaxi.. they get out matrix dodge bullets and then put you down like a dog with a doubletap.. or they forgo the lav and just run up to you and doubletap you anyway with you having no chance to see them on tacnet.

heavies do have limited mobility, they are fat and slow and easy to shoot at from range with little risk

Scouts are fine solo (well at least I am) but if he/she is using a shotgun that is easy mode....as easy as LAV camping

no sorry, it is balance. heavy should not be able to operate vehicles the way they do, it breaks emersion and defeats the purpose of the heavy having being the no mobility unit.

They are fat -- they are not slow. KinCats for speed. Even without kincats, LAVS can be called in all day. HAVs if you are a ****. DSs because why not. Uplinks for quick travel across maps.
Heavies are ONLY speed limited in strafing and covering ground on an open map. So, basically ambush... |

I use an LAV and a heavy in most games
I got 500 proto suits because I purchased the AV pack from CCP
However I never used them, I just use my militia blueprint suit without any slots
and my my militia HMG
A smart player will actually kill me if they are not stupid
If I used a proto gear and I was not APPALLING at shooting things they would not have chance.
