Bro: Minmatar runs. a LOT. AND TANKS (900EHP and 7.7 sprnt speed all in one? HAH) Amarr doesnt NEED to run, tank over 900EHP with 2 cx damage mods and a viziam Gallente goes hand to hnd with amarr but at CQ. With Breach AR and ARs Calamaris are invincible at the correct range with cover, their high shield tank/regen makes them unkillable at certain ranges not to mention they are good for CQ 1 v 1 engagements too
ST*U with that assaults are mediocre.
BUT
But i would like me some jetpack.
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

It's embarrassing to not be able to simply step over a tiny obstacle.
But four inches?
Need jetpax to mitigate the shame of being slightly more than Fluffy.

I would love a module similar to a scouts cloak for an assault. Rather than being a cloak it provides a temporary benefit. I.e a cloak is stealth.
Some of these benefits could be: (all temporary) Ewar jammer Speed boost (charge at an opponent like a raging bull on droids) Temporary resistance bonus like 50% damage resistance for 5 secs Temporary damage bonus for like 5 secs A repair boost to your passive systems

Honestly how implement it. If you have it like active gadged it should be active like active gadget ergo like cloak or scanner. What is what you dont want i think. If you want it like passive thignie just like double jump or something else it will be too OP.
CCP can make it like tactical, what will be something like jumppack:
1.)Activation (like trhough button push - like with every tactical gadget) 2.)Jump 3.)Landing (with burnout/landing delay) 5.)Possibility to shoot (after burnout delay)
Jetpack can be too OP i thing better for longshot will be the Jumppack

It should be an equipment. Obviously. A built in thing would make assaults too good. They would become the best uplink layers overnight. It would be crazy. Assault bonus should reduce fitting costs dramatically, like the Scouts do for cloaks. 75% seems to work well... It shouldn't be a jetpack. A jump-pack is much better and easier to balance around. Quick bursts of upwards movement. Manual activation. No shooting and floating. This is a mobility tool, not a combat I-win button. Something the cloak needs a harder lesson on...
Oh, and by the way, Amarr item. Amarr needs more items. Amarr item. Anyone have a more imaginative name to suggest??? Not a huge fan of , but I'm drawing a blank here...

If Jet packs become a thing in this IP(WHich they should be... Because this is the future and space based...)
Jetpacks should be like a cloak.... An Equipment slotted item that has drawbacks adverse to the obvious advantages to fitting it.
Anything that allows players to have more Multi-level playability and ability to counter it in DUST will do nothing but add to the game. |

But considering all the ROOF UPLINK spam the assault could be the ones in the dept of Height.
Let me explain. Each class has an area of expertise :
Scouts: E-war + cloaks HEavy: Point defense and CQ combat Logi: Equipment and Versatility Assault: Versatility. Commando: Double L weapon wield (Damage versatility) {Guess this means commandos are lacking something too}
Assaults are missing something and height advantage could be it!
Jetpacks are a little too much, but what if:
GÖª Anti Gravity Belt / Equipment : For a specific amount of time , the user will be able to jump x2 / x2.5 / x3 times the regular height.
Example this is NOT well thought through, is just an instant idea): GÖª STD: 10 secs of effect / Cooldown 15 / Jump height x2 GÖªADV: 20 secs of effect / Cooldown 15 / Jump height x2.5 GÖªPRO: 25 Secs of effect / Cooldown 10 / Jump height x3
All assault bonuses modified to reduce the CPU/PG requirements for this piece of equipment (in addition to the already existing one for Grenades/light and sidearms).
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

I've been telling people for a while that assaults need a form of vertical movement. Every suit aside from the assault has some form of unique gimmick that sets it apart in a "fun" way, and not just a "spreadsheet" way. Commandos being the second most lackluster in that department.
Logis have their equipment spam (and will eventually have fun things like drones, turrets, etc), scouts have their fast movement, stealth, information gathering abilities. Heavies have their incredible armor and massive weaponry.
And assaults are just.... medium sized, run of the mill dudes who can sorta fight decently. Nothing unique, just moderate competence on all ends. That should be fixed.
Vertical movement would give them a fun gimmick that would also serve to counteract against high-ground uplink spam. I don't believe that assaults should have jetpacks because that directly changes the dynamic of an actual gunfight going on. I do believe, however, that they should have grappling hooks on reasonable cooldown. That makes them difficult to use during an actual fight, but great for positioning before hand.

This would also help a lot with countering rooftop/tower camping.
Make the suit lockable with swarms when the jet pack is active (and possibly for a few seconds thereafter as it cools down). Have the fitting work like the cloak with the Assault getting a bonus the way a scout does. You should be able to fire while jet packing, but only hipfire, and there should be a major penalty to dispersion.
Best PvE idea ever!
