What it should do is just deactivate cloaks, not force it to go into cooldown; only break the lock for repair tools and not disable them; and it should make active scanners untriggerable for 1-2 seconds.
This thing shouldn't be OP. Shouldn't it just reset the scanner as well and toast out the rep tool for 1-2 secs instead?. I don't logi so I've no idea if that would be way too much, just tossing it out there.

Reset the cloak timer to 0 again, this would make more sense since the cloak is electric and the flux grenade is an EMP that does not distort the cloak.
Anyone else? Agreed, wrecks equipment and shield but not a cloak field... be... cause... it's... not... electronic.?.?.? what? how does that make sense?
The cloak runs on electricity (i hope) makes sense...anyway this should fit into CCP's collection of un-related buffs (breach AR)

Why would it wreck stamina? Anyways I think it should disable and not destroy the cloak. I don't think it should completely shut down the abilities of dropsuits because that would make Flux grenades too powerful. Your in an electronic super suit if they act as emp they would drastically alter everything
Speed stamina recovery gone Ruin ewar ..disable cloak In some cases it could even jam guns like forge for example which us like a mini modern railgun

They should wipe out all the time left on the meter, or at least a certain amount or %. If you wanted to extend that to do the same to the meter on a scanner I guess I can't argue against that - Cloaks and scanners are optional peices of equipment (unlike a dropsuit's stamina) that have their own inherent power supply and cooldown/recharge mechanic that is common between the two and not to anything else. There's no reason we would have to apply effects on those two things to anything else.
If you want to make the case for insulation against EMP's, the suits already obviously have some, otherwise the stamina pool and basically most other functions of the suit would get wiped out too. Given that precedent I don't think we need to go crazy and create a strawman against fluxes disabling cloaks by saying the same logic would make fluxes shut everything down... Unless of course you need a cloak to be relevant in this game and need to protect your crutch playstyle.

Yes. Flux grenades destroy equipment. Cloak field is equipment.
Seems obvious, no idea why this wasn't implemented when the cloak was released. |

Yes, but good luck hitting any self-respecting scout with a flux.
In other words, I don't think it would really help much in the cloak/EWAR game. |

Flux is flux, EMP is EMP. Unfortunately there is no EMP in dust. ooh that would be good.. i can actually visualise it now because we had those kind of grenades in "Dystopia" a HL2 modded cyberpunk shooter with cyberspace hacking minigame thing too... tho my favourite was light suit with shotgun and cortex bomb so when i was about to die my head would do BOOM and take out any one around me with in 2.5 meters i shouldnt do this but... EMP_Grenadebasically if you read the details it seems to outline what most all of us would like from flux nades however i think we may make flux too powerful so i would go to say, leave flux destroying equipment and nullifying shields then add EMP grenades which DO NOT nullify shields but cause distortion on screen HUD the tacnet minimap is useless for the duration but it also destroys equipment and halts any hack attempts and stops the effected players hacking for the duration that their HUD/suit is EMP'd doing this will force players to make choices Yes, a third grenade option specifically for anti hand held equipment and wear effects, maybe even add a static effect to the screen and get rid of the hipfire recticle I really like this idea. Perhaps even disable certain moduals temporarily (dampening, kincats, regulators, and code breakers come to mind, possibly damage amps as well, just stay away from affecting ehp as this made should ideally disrup tactics, not directly cause damage.) minor effect but may make for interesting gameplay. Perhaps we could also make different suits have different "boot times" perhaps even balancing things so heavys get their systems back first (justified as having redundant systems or such... |
