I'm more loyal to the Culture and People of the Federation than the Actual Government itself. I believe in the Values and progressiveness of our society.
I fight for them because I will not allow for out way of life to be threatened.
Your first and last question are the same.
CCP holds the Caldari's hand so this doesn't happen again.

So, without specifically addressing why I'm loyal to the Amarr but rather why I am loyal to anyone, the big thing is immersion. There's something really immersive, to me at least, in seeing a whole team using the same faction suits all fighting for the same cause. If I were to simply go the mercenary route it would feel more like an arcade game, but fighting for a specific faction adds some RPG elements to my experience and makes it a lot more enjoyable. Also adds fun challenges to overcome while everyone else tryhards whatever suit is most broken.

Non-Lore Answer:
Because the suits are as versatile as I am. Minmatar suits are right up my alley in EVERY role, hence why I am getting them all to proto. I fell in love with the scout early, and shifted focus to the other suits as I went along.
Lore Answer:
I was kicked out of the State War Academy for duct taping a Contact Nade Launcher on the underside of my Rail Rifle. Drill Sergeant was NOT pleased, and I was brought before a tribunal before being expelled for various reasons (They SAY that wasn't the only issue. Something about "open dissent" and "lack of state pride". It's not my fault that I read Ayn Rand and thought "These are some terrible ideas").
ANYWYAYS, I was given a token sum of ISK and told to jump station. Meandered my way through the system, and ended up at a Bar in a remote system in low-sec. Sure enough, the Minmatar were already there and drinking merrily. I joined them in their revelry, and had a good time.
Then the Amarr showed up. They came in with their "Holier-than-thou" attitude and ordered some beverages from the Bartender.
You can probably guess where this is going. Drunk Minmatar and Amarr in a seedy bar in low-sec can only have a happy ending. Long story short, things were said, objects were thrown and I minded my own business. As the offenders took their fight outside, one particularly uptight Amarr asked why a Caldari was hanging out with a bunch of Minmatar, and offered to "escort me from the presence of these Heathens"
Needless to say, I declined. He insisted. I demur. And then he makes the mistake of trying to grab my arm and escort me out forcibly, exclaiming drunkenly that "I wasn't in my right state of mind" Military training took over. Say what you want about the State War Academy, but they trained CQC fairly well. I threw the man on the ground, and immediately noticed that I had a group of surly looking Amarr standing in front of me.
Ready to go down swinging, I took up a stance, and was surprised to see the whole group slowly grumble and head back to their seats, retrieving their fallen friend in the process. The other Minmatar (The one fighting), had now stumbled back in the door, bruised but smiling, with groans being heard outside. The Amarr take their drinks to go and head out.
Thinking that I was just a badass, I turn back to the bartender and notice that every Minmatar in the room was standing on their feet facing the door. I remember that they were all sitting down before my "incident". Distinctly.
I smile and raise a glass toward one of the men. He picks up his own glass, smiles as if to say "Cheers" and drinks deeply.
They bought me drinks, played games, and we were merry well into the night. Having nothing better to do, I offered my services to them and headed with them to the next system.
And that is how I was "Adopted" into the Minmatar, the only people willing to stand up and defend me, which was more than the Caldari ever did for me. And for that small loyalty, I joined with them, and I have stayed for the loyalty they have shown to me since.

sir RAVEN WING wrote:Why are you loyal to them? Who do you fight for? Why do you fight for them?
I fight for God and His Empire.
I am loyal because it is my duty to be so, my purpose in this life. To protect the people of the Amarr Empire from war and conflict and to spread the word of the Faith throughout the stars so that all men and women of all races and creeds can come together in God's light and claim to be Amarr.
I fight for them in the hope that one day when we have Reclaimed all that God ha given us we might stand together as equals, barring the nobles who rule us, and the Emperor who stands closest to God.
I seek no monetary gain, though I do not lie that such matters are of concern, I do not seek favour with the Crusade or the Imperial Courts. I seek only to bring honour to my Order, my Alliance, and the Word of God to the furthest reaches of space where His light does not yet shine.
((OOC wise I simply love the Amarr. Their culture and history is amazing, their designs incredible, and the people I've met during the Crusades are awesome enough I could never consider raising a hand against the Amarr.
Moreover Kador (True Adamance) is on of my favourite characters I've ever created. I'm attached to him, and to Satja, etc and love them both.
Plus God, Lasers, Women, Gold Women that shoot lasers from their navels...... what's not to love?))

The Caldari were founding members of the Federation until they decided that they were disadvantaged by the economic policies and seceded. That might have been fine, except then they decided to raze a couple of Gallentean cities on the way out.
Cue a bloody conflict that's been going on and off ever since.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Oh come now Arkena you know as well as I do these were extremists of an organisation completely independent of the Caldari governing body and reacting to the perceived in injustices of a Federation sanction blockade of Caldari Prime with the intent to starve our resistance.

Please keep to insults to a minimum, thank you. A Caldari extremist group destroyed 1 city which killed about 5,000,001 to 9,999,999 people. I am not a fan about that, but it has happened and we can not erase the past. I admit we are not the worst, but we are much better than the Gallente... from my view (I'll open a debate thread later, for now hold it in as I am doing)
@Riruodo Yes and no. We were our own people at first, then we helped the founding of the Federation, and now we are our own people again. The extremist group Arkena wants you to believe is the Caldari governing body is not at all affilated with the Caldari from my knowledge (Aka the lore)

The extremist group Arkena wants you to believe is the Caldari governing body is not at all affilated with the Caldari from my knowledge (Aka the lore) well, I was found as a baby floating in an abandoned war barge off of nul sec by some Gallentean Drones. I was raised by them for a long time and knew nothing about the Gallente-Caldari Civil War. I can't be blamed for not knowing our history.
btw, I only wear a Caldari Assault Suit because I was one of a lucky few to win a golden ticket to visit Wacky Wanko's Chocolate Quafe Factory. The prize at the end, for coming out unharmed and honest and pure, was a Caldari Assault Suit.
