I was wondering how long it will take for this topic to show up.
first, the delay is not even noticeable, as before it is mostly the switch animation.
second, you are still invisible while shooting
third, while not shown here it happens frequently that decloak and shotgun shooting sounds arent played for the victim you are attacking.

I was moving intentionally so you could see the cloak and the timing. If I stand still there is no glimmer.

My squad mate and I both got killed yesterday by the same cloaked shotgunner before he became visible because we were stood next to each other. 2 shots took us both out.
Another squad member said that he has no delay at all (pre-1.9 length) if he quickly switches between weapons when decloaking. |

The cloak delay is poorly designed, it's made by slowing the weapon switching, so you are penalized when uncloaked and thx to the animation you have a bigger advantage than before when cloaked. They get exactly the opposite results they wanted to get.
And you know the funniest? You can melee 3 times before being visible as the delay is on the weapon swap and not the decloaking itself... |

I was one of the few that doesn't have this game because I play Dust but I might get it over the weekend or just wait for " Black Friday " to get it because I'm tired of matchmaking .

Ridiculous, still firing while invisible. They should stop messing around with these tiny adjustments and make it a 3-5 second delay. Even then it would still be an extremely powerful piece of equipment.

I play them both, Destiny for PvE grind and Dust for PvP grind
But honestly you combine them you will have great game

I watch people play on YouTube , have been doing it since it first came out and I know some people who play the game and I check feedback in articles .

I came back to play 1.9 for a few days and it was fun to play again but the HMG-Sentinel/Shotgun Scout plague is still the bane of this game. I miss the focus on gunplay that the pre-cloak patches had. Soon as cloaks hit, this game turned into invisible high-alpha damage cat and mouse warfare.

The animation lasts 2 seconds, but the delay is only 1 so if they run simultaneously, the animation will be running for 1 second after the delay ends. Making the delay 2 seconds and animation 1 would fix that. |

On second viewing, you're definitely right. There's no improvement at all from the 0.3 second delay. |

What I find amusing is that CCP claims the cloak is designed more for moving across big distances and not direct combat, yet chose a stupidly short delay between 'decloak' and firing.
EDIT: You know honestly if I was designing it, I'd have one cloak type with a long firing delay but no movement penalty, and then another with a severe movement penalty but shorter delay.

The decloak interferes with the Nova Knife charge, like I'm blocked from charging after decloak and I end up having to tap it for a limp swing before I can start the charge. It's not exactly stealthy, and I assume I'll have to learn to wait on the charge-up, but my pistol worked whilst cloaked.

I found this with the introduction of the cloak, so I don't know if it's a new thing. I've avoided having my cloak up when going for the Knife since the first day.
