There is apparently a shield regulator on the Galassault. why

Two Shield Extenders on the Amarr Assault.
....but then again Rattati did take suggestions from the general player base and not those who respect racial purity.......
IMO a Racial Amarr Assault should have looked.
3x Imperial Armour Plates (only 3 because no Resistance platings) 1x Imperial Armour Repairer 1x Range Extender
1x Light Weapon Modifer (only because NO HEAT SINKS) 1x Side Arm Modifier 1x Precision Enhancers

Honestly, I don't think this is a particularly good fit either. EWAR on a medium is lulzy in the extreme.

CCP Ratatatatatata said that the fittings are not designed to be optimized as these are not meant to be pay to win. If they were optimized, then new players would just buy these and kill everyone - definition of pay to win.
These suits are meant to be a middle ground for new players to have a little better gear while they learn the game and can skill into better fittings that are optimized.
For veteran players these are nothing more than new items to grind in.

There's a shield extender on the Federation Assault gk.0... On the lows, I believe it's 2 Ferroscales, a Dampener, & 2 Armor Repairers.
The suits aren't THAT bad. Except the Commando ck.0. I mean... Really??

I read that it was a shield regulator, ferroscale, 2 reppers, and a dampener.
Two of which are terrible slot spends and basic ferroscale is horrible.

Yes, but do any of you notice something? It's telling. Look at the color schemes.
They are all crossfactional colors. As in they are like pirate and bloodline oriented. The Amarr has a Caldari gray camo pattern mixed with the Amarr gold and a hint of black.
Anybody that plays EVE recognize that as Khanid? The shield fitting proves what I was already thinking. Khanid are Amarr with Cal tech thrown in.
The Minmatar suit is gold and looks a bit reddish (not sure, I'm colorblind and looking at a poor screen). Guess who? If it is running armor over shields then it is Amatar.
The other two suits could represent pirate factions. In EVE, pirate faction ships are a hybrid mix of two main factions.
Could this be a one time lark from the devs to be cute or is this the beginning of pirate and bloodline aurum variants? I've been thinking they should do that if they want non-bpo suits that people would pay money to use.
EDIT: I think I'll post this as it's own thread!
I'm better than laser focused; I'm hybrid focused.

Hehyo I think thoses suits are fitted like that to show new players all the mods they can put.
And, If the suits were fitted (for example the caldassault with 3x shield extender 2x shield energizer) thoses fits would have become a bit too much powerfull.
I think thoses fits are really good fitted, okey I don't have all the mods I wanted, but I think that's the good part of thoses suits

I doubt any significant number of new players are going to shell out $30 for just one of these things... and anyone who can stand the grind for 100k lp probably isn't a new player
If there were cheap consumable versions available for LP this might actually accomplish something other than giving vets with a ****load of LP/$ shiny toys
Or if these things cost... say, $10, they might make more total volume in sales. I'm not inclined to even spend $30 for one, but if they were $10 each my fragile human psychology would derp out and I'd buy 5, and probably so would the alleged target audience of these suits
But then again I don't have a buisness degree |

I am also very afraid of allowing BPO suits to be too powerful. I'd rather them underperform, and then buff them later, then deliver overpowered infinite use suits.

IMO, the properly fitted suits would be better than most STD suits and worse than most ADV suits.
If CCP wanted to make them weaker than STD suits and better than militia, oh well.

I am unconvinced they are better than militia.
I assure you, I can get more than +35 armour HP and +5 HP/s reps out of a militia suit, even if it doesn't have 5 low slots.

Still, in the cases where the bonus is unremarkable, I would quite happily use militia over these.
