Honestly, I don't think this is a particularly good fit either.
EWAR on a medium is lulzy in the extreme.

why There's a shield extender on the Federation Assault gk.0... On the lows, I believe it's 2 Ferroscales, a Dampener, & 2 Armor Repairers. The suits aren't THAT bad. Except the Commando ck.0. I mean... Really??
I read that it was a shield regulator, ferroscale, 2 reppers, and a dampener.
Two of which are terrible slot spends and basic ferroscale is horrible.

I am unconvinced they are better than militia.
I assure you, I can get more than +35 armour HP and +5 HP/s reps out of a militia suit, even if it doesn't have 5 low slots.

Ah, no, you are right.
Still, in the cases where the bonus is unremarkable, I would quite happily use militia over these.
