I thought the names were going to be creative, clever, maybe funny. But it's "Alex's HMG" and "Luis' whatever". Did CCP not allow anything but a first name or is the community not at all creative? Not a big deal really but I just kind of chuckled and shook my head when I saw them. Stay gold. "Stay gold, Ponyboy..."

Months but considering I spent weeks trying to get my full name in there and it being rejected I doubt to much "creativity" would be allowed since I could not get my full name in there even. Im not trying to make ccp out to be a monster(I'll do that in other threads) but I understand why they were so strict with names and I respect that to a degree. I have always imagined Gastun, Krin and Balac as some mysterious heroes of old and that's what made them cool. Not a "brand" name like Zerofrost. Kalente, Alldin, Viktor, Alex,Bons, Ghalag, and all those other names fit the bill perfectly. Of course we can't dilute the lore of New Eden by allowing anything, my favorite hated name from WoW "BurgerKing69", that is jarring, every time you see it. It did not need to be the name of the player, but it couldn't be anything. It could have been a homage, Boba's Scrambler Rifle, as long as it wasn't jarring. People naturally selected their own name and used the numbers for effect. I am extremely happy about the names and the fact that we have these powerful weapons, finally. I work and go to school full time that's why I'm not to excited about having to spend so much time during this event. I give Ccp a tip of my hat for improving the event the second go around. Managed to snag my first couple of kills with Alex's hmg supression monster and Alldin's absolute blap machine forge gun. If youre one of the winners congratulations. However it doesn't change the fact the lot of you have shown you don't have an ounce of creativity. Also the werewolf bit was more for a combat rifle. Also could have been lycanthrope or daywalker. i simply believe if your gonna do something do it right. Never in a million years would I pick autos or lionesse for the name of a weapon because it doesn't sound cool and I'd want to make the most of the occasion. I mean hey if your gonna name it after yourself by all means go ahead you earned it but at least have a cool name. Kalantes sounds fine and it goes along with balacs. Alex doesn't even sound like a name from new Eden. It should have been rejected on the spot for that alone. Out of 3 names if that's the best you can come up with well it kinda speaks for itself. If I was a ccp Member I'd spend all day happily deleteing names like Alex and giving them something more creative. It's nothing personal against him, I don't know the guy. It's just an awful name in this context and doesn't belong. Ccp tells us to think things threw with the names on characters cause you can't go back and change it and no one wants to be stick with mc duck fart as a name for 5 years. Alex is not much better in the grandscheme of things. Like I said it's just a shame you/they didn't give it 15 seconds of thought. Well apart from kalante I guess. Good job to him. I just can't take people seriously who can't even put the smallest ammount of effort into something, especially considering the grinding y'all must have done to win. Why flush it down the drain, the concept goes right over my head. The name is always the most important part. Do it right once and you never have to worry about it again.
