Ok...say no isk transfers. Fine. Why not let EVE pilots BUILD Dust gear? Think about it.
Get blueprint for Advanced rail rifle, invent it into Prototype variant....
Mine, manufacture dropsuits the same as ships...
EVEN IF there shouldn't be an ISK transfer...there should be some way besides dropping orbitals EVE pilots can assist Dust mercs and vice versa
The games of EVE and Dust are like an entire world and it shouldn't be impossible for one to help the other...its frustrating as crap, honestly.
Will never happen for Dust. Maybe Legion, hopefully.
But we can buy dropsuits and weapons in EVE. What's the point of that? Is there some way to GIVE the assets to your Dust character? That would be wicked bad ass
Because of the issues spoken about in this thread. If an EVE player buys assets and transfers them to a Dust character, its basically the same as direct ISK transfer. Meaning you could buy A LOT more suits in EVE with the same time investment in Dust, thus creating an imbalance. Hell I fire volleys of missiles every couple seconds that cost more than most of my dropsuit fits. Even in manufacturing you have issues.
Take mining for example, in EVE you're mining at a rate where you gather materials to make a starship. The amount of materials needed to produce a dropsuit are infinitesimally smaller, which means the time needed to gather the materials and create it is also equally shorter. I mean when I mine Im gathering thousands of cubic meters worth of material every hour.... imagine how many dropsuits I could make with that material. And for what, an hour of mindless 'work'? Dust items simply cannot be made via traditional means without overly saturating Dust with assets.
Also that being said, Dust mercs make and spend so little money compared to what EVE players do, that even buying the items from them....they would make so little money that it wouldn't be worth their time to do so. So now you have a player run manufacturing system...that isn't lucrative to those making the items...so they wont do it. That being said, a traditional EVE manufacturing scheme simply isnGÇÖt compatible with Dust/Legion. There needs to be a significantly different way that these goods are produced for it work. So no, it's not impossible, but its far from easy or simple to do.
