Seriously. Why did ANYONE think this was a good idea?

Who thought that the ability to see where other players are through walls along with what direction they're facing in a First Person Shooter was a good idea? Active scanners aren't totally bad, but their ability to simply make flanking obsolete is unacceptable. And I don't see why CCP re-enabled their ability that made them problematic in the first place.

It used to be that at the most, 6 people would know where I was. Now EVERYONE knows where I am.

And willingness to change directions as conditions dictate. If you're actively scanned and everyone knows where you're then flanking isn't an option anymore. Either way your enemy will know to expect you.

Either way your enemy will know to expect you. News Flash: The enemy already expects you, thats why theyre scanning. Pro-Tip: Flanking is ALWAYS an option. Read above quote in bold . Flanking is when you attack them where they don't have a defense. If they know where you're coming from then they will face you head on. That's not flanking.

So basically, you have to attack with two people? Because if it's just one person the defending party can simply rotate to face the aggressive push head on.

el OPERATOR wrote:"Flanking" is an attack that occupies two fronts, yes. The front, and the flank. If your opponent spins to face an attack on their flank, they expose the previous front as an available flank. Is this new for you? Because this is what flanking is all about, one side occupies the attention while the other side occupies the kill. Really basic stuff here.
If you're "flanking" without the opponents attention being diverted, you aren't really flanking, you're just attacking them and depending on how well dressed you are for the occassion you are highly likely to find the party very short. When I flank I flank I usually go around the entirety of the enemy team almost to the back of the map. Then I slowly attack people in the back, then the middle and then move to the front. So I don't just flank one guy at the frontline; I flank around everyone.
Scanners practically eliminate this playstyle.

You DO need to be smarter about it, more Solid Snake and less Riddick. And if this kind of sneaking is your forte, you should be having 0 issue with any scans since you're more than able to build a fit that will defeat ANY scans in here and the only worry you need have is that the red you just ghosted is telling his friends where you are on comms. If you're a scout you don't need to worry about scans. But what if you're like me and you like to run an Assault suit, flank and then go ham on the enemy? My play style is dead unless I decide to go into scouts.
