It did receive a 14% damage buff when it was already a good weapon.

It can out DPS a rail rifle outside of it's optimal range. But the breach AR has always been easy to handle and easy to apply most of it's DPS which is why it was good before the buff. It seems like rattati buffed it based on its low usage, probably because RR & CR were better choices at the time. |

It's OP as hell... yes it lacks some range, but we fight for objectives that are mostly CQC so that's hardly
the greatest downside that it can't shoot 100m, it doesn't need to because inside of range it's a beast
We've seen the RR's solution to too much DMG, why should the Breach AR be left in this state???
Hopefully we are not waiting a long time for a fix, but the BAR is in need of some changes

because its supposed to.
gallente are short range high damage, the breach should perhaps have range brought down by about 10m to balance it a bit more but a militia rail rifle will still out range a creo breach by 20-30m.
the thing has been underpowered pretty much since the games birth so cut it and those of us who have been using it a bit of slack, boo-hoo summat does more damage than the godly rail rifle huh? ffs a bolt pistol will still outrange it. i ran my quafe assault with a GB-9 breach and 194 shield and bout 590 armour and a bolt pistol still 2 shotted me from 50m away

Brach have same dmg as normal AR.
And RR still destroys at long distances (especialy on Calmando and calassault)
But yeah. Ar is cool now. Not as OP as before and not as bad after nerf cycles.
Also. Caldari tech > gallente tech.
PS. Caldari have everything now i think. All kinds of guns,suits,vehicles.

They may have " everything " but they dam sure need it because for the most part .. Caldari suck and are ineffective .
They can't even win at FW unless they all got together and q-sync every match and then you don't see all Caldari , you see mostly Gal players helping .

I do quite well on a dom MP with the BAR. In fact it's my go to weapon on MP and works quite well if you're the uphill team; not as good if you're on the downhill team but if you can get up on the objective you can use it and the little hills by it as cover to hold it. Unless the enemy swarm you, then you might have trouble holding it depending on how good the enemy is. Of course map configuration and team "balance" will impact performance.

Gallente weapons are supposed to out-dps you upclose... Come on, OP.
This is why I proudly use the TacAR.
Loads of dps in short brief volleys. You can do a lot with that 18 round clip, provided you don't miss or get overwhelmed, and you get half decent range.
So if you're using a Gallente AR, especially a BAR, up close, congratulations, you're doing it right.
Set your goals high, and shoot for the moon; even if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

Protip: Assault Rifles ALWAYS return to the original aiming point when you stop firing. Even the TAR, no matter how much recoil, or how much fire.
I tested it earlier the ar has no recoil it is a joke give it more kick and I'd be fine. Same with the cr.

Ahhhh! The AR can actually kill something now. And my RR got nerfed in CQC. I'm made that the RR was nerfed! I didn't have any problem at all with the breach AR until my RR got nerfed. Now the AR must die. Nerf it to uselessness again. Whanh!

i chuckle too. best thing is, everyone moans about the RR nerf.. if only CCP put in an alternate RR that was designed for CQC better than the RR, it could have a tighter hip fire than the basic one, perhaps lower the damage but increase the rof, hell in CQC they could even take the scope off it too and just have iron sights... i just wonder what they could call it?

Well to be fair the BAR > AR. Same dps but higher alpha, damage per clip, and more easily applied due to less dispersion. Don't know if I'd say it's OP though. It seems pretty balanced as far as I can tell. My only issue is, it should have more range and less dps than the regular AR... Breach was supposed to be the Caldari tech variant for rifles. |

so the BAR is or isn't OP? I loved that gun because I thought I found my niche weapon but it could have been that I didn't notice how good it was because few people used it.
But lately I've been seeing a lot more people use the BAR and I'm beginning to wonder if it's not so much I found "my" weapon, but I'm using a crutch (like back when RR was awesome).
Is there a graph (I know CCP loves graph) that shows a list of the most underperforming/ bought guns in the market place? Maybe I'll start trying those out to find my new gun.
