So i've been trying out the blaster turret on my Incubus because yolo, and i've been having a lot of fun.
Sure, I get no kills (or any WP for that matter), and I can only get a Viper's shields down about halfway before overheating, and that's if i'm meters away from ramming them, but I like to imagine the reaction people have to the fact that i'm even using it lol. Just in my head. I do like the sound of it though. It gives the illusion that i'm killing something.
One match I was tickling the infantry with it and poking at them. I thought they enjoyed it, but 3 heavies showed up with forge guns and made me boom. D: I was so sad.

I want the incubus to shoot plasma cannon rounds. Maybe medium turrets should be used for ads in the future. |

or a slower blaster turret that burns people.
like small plasma grenade bullets. but no 6m radius or anything stupid like that. just .5-1 that burns overtime in addition to higher damage.
like a railrifle but plasma and the burning effect.

While it's true it sucks on ADSs, it is absolutely devastating to infantry on an LAV. I'd imagine side turrets are also quite potent.

It took me around 10 ADS to get one single kill.

OP sounds exactly like me. I am wondering if there is a hit detection problem on the small blaster while on the ADS. I flew around chasing a guy in an open area down at point blank range and it should have tore home up. It only registered once.
I'm wondering if the rotation speed matters or if it is just a matter of aim. With the small missiles you have to aim ahead of where you want to hit while moving. That might be travel time but also I'm sure lag plays a part. I'm going to continue to experiment and enjoy a different play style especially since ADS are more vulnerable now. I' staying moving, flying down, lining up and strafing through high traffic areas if only to lay down suppressive fire.
Still, I am respeccing and putting more into DS and turrets from sniping and I'm still going blaster. It is fun strafing with it. Missile launcher doesn't really need the sp to work properly and is more effective on an Incubus which is bass ackwards.

I really hope that we get racial turrets .
Anyone who gets a kill with a blaster turret while flying , is a absolute boss .

Back in 1.5 I managed to go 25/0 with a blaster incubus. Never since.

My first and only kill was camping some poor Cal Frontline's body at point blank while someone picked him up.
I still took me half a clip to do it.

The best way to make the weapon work on ADS without making it insanely effective on LAVs or HAVs would be to make a front-mount only version that has less dispersion, with no ability to horizontally rotate indepently from the vehicle.
If a LAV would fit it they would have to point the front bumper at the target, and might as well just run them down. If a HAV fits it than it's front small turret would lose what little horizontal aiming ability it has, and the one mounted on the top would point in roughly the same direction as the large turret.
It would likely not be used on ground vehicles much, unless there was a fairly organized crew driving it.
