I have a caldari quafe suit and I love it. It has all the bonuses of the skills so it is exactly like a basic suit except that I save 3,000 isk every time I die and its a pretty pinkish color and since my character is a girl then is even better. It is currently my favorite suit. The caladari like the gallente has profile dampening bonuses per suit level. However, the caldari has a lower bonus than the gallente. It also only has 1 module spot on the right. So, what do i put in it? 1 complex profile dampening. I'm pretty much invicible to everybody except the very high level gallente scout and the UGLY looking leveled up ammar scout. They really have to be leveled up high and use a profile enhancer to detect me. So, am I 100% invisible? No. I know for a fact that i can be detected. How invisible am I? I'm guessing I'm invisible to 95% of the players which are good odds. I don't think I die because of lack of invisibility. I mostly die because I make stupid mistakes. its the old f-it!! I can take that guy out and nope it turns out I couldn't.
So, to answer your question. with 1 complex profile dampener it should be enough. Especially with the gallente scout (assuming level 5 proto level. Again what matters is the level and not the suit). If you truly want to be invisible then put 2 complex dampeners. In my opinion that is a waste of time and money (isk). Especially if you use the shotgun. The shotgun setup "IN MY OPINION" should be agile and do a quick hit and run. therefore it doesn't need a lot of expensive equipment. Here is my caldari quafe setup. I call this guy Pink Floyd. It cost me about 18,000 isk. It will not be the same as the gallente but, you can do something similar. this is just to give you an idea.
high mods:
2 advance shield extenders
1 complex profile enhancer
low mods:
1 complex profile dampener
weapons:
basic shotgun
side arm --> either bolt pistol or smg both are basic level.
Equipment:
1 basic cloak device
Because this suit is so cheap I'm not so worried about dying and thus can work on improving my game. I kill more with this suit than the expensive setup. is a psychological thing. Oh! and did I mention is pink?
I additionally run an "El Cheapo" version for he minmatar scout suit for those occasion when an objective needs hacking and you need to get there quick. This guy is only at level 3.

1 enhance shield extender
1 basic shield extender
low mods
1 complex profile dampener
1 basic profile dampener
weapons
either basic shotgun or bolt pistol
sidearm either smg or bolt pistol depending what i put on as main weapon.
alternatively I can put a basic combat rifle with nova knifes.
equipment:
1 basic cloacking device
This guy is just as invisible as my caldari and cost about 15,000 isk. There have been countless time when I'm hacking a CRU and people spawn right next to me. I keep on hacking with no worries. Now imagine how much more awesome (invisibility wise) the gallente will be |
