Meh. Beta vet doesn't care because I have sentinels more or less maxed. I think I could maybe optimize four skills and then no one could be "better" than me without being naturally hot on the battlefield.
Means they are either damn good or damn lucky. Either way, not my problem.
Let the newbies grind, the last two years of snail's pace progress have led too many to burn out too fast. A feeling of progress always slows burnout.

Yup. I might actually bring burned out members of my corp back because of these changes.
Totally unfair that CCP may have handed me a recruiting and retention windfall.

TL;DR you forum warriors don't have a good reputation outside of the forums. Stop calling yourselves "the community" and realize the vast majority of the actual Dust community doesn't even log onto this forum.
That's an awfully big supposition there.
In my experience most players neither know nor care that there is a forum. You and your little tryhard friend circle jerk don't qualify as anything resembling a majority.
Get over yourself. Most players want more FUN, not more grindy bull shizz.
You do not represent the views of anything but an indignant fraction of the player base. And quite bluntly I'd rather see a buncha crazy newbies who are enjoying shooting mans than see you and your buddies restrict everyone to the burnout grind.

DarthPlagueis TheWise wrote:Again, twice the current cap would put the new players in a really good place SP wise.
Quadruple the normal cap completely undermines the hard work ANYONE has done before 1.9 not just the vets.
I want to see the NPE improve as much as anybody. However this is overkill. There is no such thing as overkill, merely assured kill.
Bluntly newbies can close the SP efficiency gap fast. This is a good thing.
Vets can keep ahead and retain their 30-70 million SP lead the same way. Whoop de doo.
The new changes give vets a reason to do something other than say screw it, passive SP is good enough till legion.
Most vets QUIT because of the grind, or only play once a month, or only play forum war 514 because actually playing the game has traditionally rewarded dedication the way a power drill through the forehead rewards a lack of common sense.

Pay to win requires an advantage that cannot be achieved without real money.
In DUST you cannot buy anything with aur that you couls not with ISK. You ca get to 40 mil just like booster buyers. It only takes longer. Speed advantages are not pay to win. Technically officer weapons wouldn't be because you can get thwm via play but that is REALLY pushing the envelope.
The fact that CCP makes the best weaponry non real money purchase speaks against P2W.

I'm a beta vet. It doesn't even faze me.
I don't feel that my work grinding SP will be invalidated.
Quite bluntly CCP being overly stingy with the SP rewards and cutting match rewards to 1/5th on release has been a sore point for me for a very long time.
what it means to me is that I can tell new and returning players that they don't need to suck up six months of getting boned in the ass with no lube before they will start having fun or be relevant.
It means I can train a crew to do damage in a matter of weeks instead of having to play shepherd for months of frustration. It means I can actually feel like I am making progress when I log in and fight rather than grinding for the most worthless payouts and player rewards.
In short it feels like less bullshizz grind and more like advancement will come at a pace matching a player's comfort level instead of an eternal grind to achieve parity.
