What gives with the give up? So many new players, and shockingly some vets, give up on the match before it's even an L?! 16 v 16 is 16 v 16 no matter if they're all in proto or not!
I think I speak for a large percentage of the community when I say you gain more respect in the community when you fight, than you do when you stop pushing. The corp names that I remember most aren't the PC corps?! We all know now that CCP is pushing for fixes, and PC will soon be the main focal point of devs! The strong independent corps that fight like hell everytime you see them are more memorable than any.
I understand exactly as you do that this game is as much about economic growth as well as skill growth. In order to not have a match turn into a loss you may have to run militia or basic gear. In order to make money I myself rarely run prototype gear. I balance performance and cost pretty well, and currently have large numbers of suits stacked in my inventory. Working on stacking my favorite advanced level weaponry now. If you work together better you don't need prototype gear, and this has been proven time and time again.
I would like to know the communities opinion of this? Do you see the 6 v 16 matches as often as I? Does it feel like you're getting any assistance outside of the squad you're in? Do you take charlie, move to bravo, take bravo, and find out that the enemy has charlie again with almost no resistance?
Curious to know if this is a rising epidemic across the starmap.

So I mean we have the matchmaking working for us, but it feels like we need to add a few more things to the equation. A mercs "I quit" numbers, afk time, and lack of spine should be accounted for as well. This way when you put a squad of 6, a squad of 3, and the rest blues against 3 squads of 3 and the rest blues you can balance it out more. I've seen this layout in the matchs, but then quickly find out that a few of the 3 man squads don't know how to hold a point?!
The "MU" has made it a bit better, but their are still issues I guess. When I play ambush I run series and below suits so if I die 5 times I still make 150k isk easy. For dom I focus on a support role like AV or ammo and link drop. I can make 450k isk and up playing these roles. For skirm I tend to bring the hammer down in whatever is needed to win whether it be scout, AV, assault, logi, heavy, etc. I've even called tanks and dropships lol!
If one role isn't working as intended I'm versatile enough to fill another role and be an effective and lucrative part of the team. Some players will go snipe from the redline, for instance, and still won't kill anything?! You won't see one single sniper kill, and the sniper rifle was buffed?! I was never a sniper before the sniper rifle changes l, and even I have killed atleast 100 mercs with it since situationally.
In most instances "proto stompers" as they have been dubbed survive 1 v 1 because they simply out class the dropsuit their up against, but they do this with sometimes very little hp left and often limp away just barely. At this point when he's reloading, hurt, and struggling for the regen to start kicking almost anything could take him out?! However, all too often do I see proto heavies crossing open areas oncontested, scouts attacking one guy within a group and walking away without retaliation from the group, and mercs watching in amazement as one merc engages 2 and sometimes 3 mercs solo?!

What we have now is a team-balancer, which re-arranges the teams based on the 32 players that are assigned to the match based on how high or low their Mu is.
A matchmaker, assigns 32 players to a match based on how high or low their Mu is.
Wondering if that's good or bad?

the corps iv seen doign this are FA nyan sian duna and a ffew others
while i hate pub stompers atleast iv seen carbon 7 not stoop soo low as to use those tactics You think that dudes in FA seek out players from random corps to give them a MU advantage in pubs? I think I've seen it all now. They put RF2 or something to that effect in their PC chat, alliance, chat, or other personal chats. I've never been more confident in a post on these forums when saying that what you are insinuating simply DOES NOT HAPPEN.
I think he meant what you're saying. There's rarely a full squad of Nyain anymore. It's the same guys with different corp names I guess. A full squad of FA is rare in pub, and I just always assumed that was due to squading in alliance or other chats. It really doesn't make a difference what tag they wear though in all honesty.

There are players that bring it. There are players that wilt.
This is true. I guess my point is that these battle outcomes seem to be determined more by who had the most "fallouts" if you will. I guess there's really no way to fix it. You could Q sync, and alot of corps do, but then it's frowned upon by some?! However, depending on blues not on comms to hold a point.... it's better just to leave, and pray the remote you left holds the point?!

I can't tell what changed, but "back in the day", if you will, it seemed that battles on all levels were down to the last tic on the MCC, last clone, and the very last round fired, and in some cases today it is still like that I guess. However, far too often now do I see battles where I will die and look at the map for an area to support, and see only 5 green dots moving around?! The blues will be at the MCC or ground spawn afk?! We'll sometimes still have shields on the MCC?!
I guess I'm just pointlessly venting, and wish I had video to show this to CCP. Maybe they could reward the afkers even less for not assisting the effort for the win? I know the guys at the top get more funds for their warpoints, but I mean really make it less lucrative for guys who rock a sniper rifle and kill no one at all? I wouldn't pay a merc that didn't show some sort of usefulness. Coming at the bottom of the board is fine if you broke 600 wp's, and it was your best effort. 0/0 25wp's isn't anyone's best effort?!
