Made a new thread since I can't find the other one for the life of me. Mostly just a few spit-balled ideas I was thinking about while bored at work. Most of this is based on the (dramatic) misconceptions I had back in closed beta over some items on the test server (bear in mind that a lot of the stuff in that post never came to fruition).
Spectre - Assault ~ Bonus to scan dampening and reduced fitting for cloaking devices ~ Loses weapon fitting reductions, possibly module slots Cross between assault and scout, lacking the speed and versatility of either
Shrike - Commando ~Gains grenade slot and increased grenade splash damage/radius ~Loses equipment slot and reload speed bonus Grenadier who depends on others to supply powerful crowd control
Titan - Sentinel ~Gains increased heavy weapon potential or defense ~Loses all stamina. Cannot jump, sprint, or melee. True point defense.
Insurgent - Scout ~Gains increased damage bonus and equipment slot. ~Loses cloak fitting reduction and dampening bonus. Light field logi with a sidearm, without stealth and equipment bonuses
Operator - Logistics ~Increased scan radius and precision ~Sidearm only True support at the expense of offensive capability
Wraith - Commando ~Bonuses to range and mag capacity ~Loses bonus to damage and reload speed Suppression unit with bonus based on racial weaponry

I'd much rather see growth horizontally (racial parody with weapons, vehicles, turrets, etc. among other things) than growth vertically (adding more tiers to stuff).
Not to mention that these ideas seem to benefit vets more and leave the newer players even further behind and moving farther away from tier-icide.

Tiericide applies to things like arbitrary power levels - standard/advanced/prototype sort of stuff. This would be added more specializations to the mix that would have to be balanced out in the same way that your typical suits (Assault/Scout/etc) would be. The post-level 5 moniker is really just that: a moniker.
Which, if we're going to start considering this as tiers we're going to have to nyx the Frames all together because they're practically useless for any reason other than being a barrier to unlocking the typically used suits that have bonuses. These aren't expanding on uses, they're just changing out bonuses to provide more options for players.
Does it apply to veterans? Absolutely, that's the entire premise of post-level 5 content. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have that because there are a lot of players who feel like they've hit a barrier. I myself already have 30+ skills at level 5 and there is literally nothing I can do for my Gallente Assault to further specialize into it. There's nothing left for me to attain.
You don't have to look far to see the inherent desire for further progression. Vehicle users have been begging for it ever since the Marauder/Enforcer tanks were taken away.

Either that, or "+X% sprint speed" type bonuses.

I think about T2 items... Have no ideas about suits, but weapons may have 2-3 shooting modes for combat rifle single, burst and auto, the same damage at every mode, but different accuracy and range, or maybe 2 type of sights. But T2 must have huge SP investments.

i would much rather have them side by side with their counterpart. break the logi/assault and heavy/commando apart and give them a different purpose to 2 specific uses of that what we consider the current roles of the suits.
specialised such as:
light - scout (damp/hack spec) assassin (cloak/dps spec)
support - logistics (supply equip spec) medic (heal equip spec)
medium - assault (tank/dps spec) spec ops (damp/dps spec)
commando - grenadier (more grenades) AV specialist (more av)
heavy - sentinel (dps spec) titan (defence spec)
just an example but offers up far more options and a distinct role tailored to anyones specific interest in the current suits.
looking at my example my current logistics would be a medic, my old assault was the assault, my old scout was the scout, my commando was the av specialist, my heavy the titan.
i have seen plenty of assassins and scouts, logistics and medics, assaults, av specialists,sentinels and titans. perhaps some spec ops assaults too. i think this over having a new top end would better suit the game and everyones own play styles

How about non-battle-bonus features for the battle-tested pro who has everything:
Add skill levels to specially-colored gear. Level GÇ£6GÇ¥ gives one-tone options, level GÇ£7GÇ¥ gives two-tone.
Imagine working to get to level 7 in your suit of choice and being able to run around in a Silver and Midnight black suit, then levelling to 6 in your weapon for that blazing red Mass Driver, and finally putting in enough skillpoints in your favorite Drop Ship to make it look like a Taxicab!
Or customized colors for weapon discharge as in

FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.

I would invest 1M skill points and 10M ISK to have my rep tools deliver shimmering golden beams of healing

IMO those should be an equivalent of tier 2 eve ships that must come into dust when full racial parity is in game guns/vehicles/structures/suits etc. i applaud this idea cheers!

Why not make it work like t2 items in eve. They should gain a bonus from the advanced skills and the basic skills, maybe gain a role bonus too

They already have a multitude of bonuses as is and I think that adding more onto that would just further increase the gap between new player and veteran.

I think it would be OK for them to inherit the class bonus, but not the racial bonus, from their T1 precursor, so long as the T2 suits are significantly more niche oriented, and have serious drawbacks and strengths tied to using them.
So a T2 assault would end up having 2 class bonuses and a racial bonus, but be a super niche play style altogether.
Someone's gotta tell the stupids that their ideas are bad, and I guess it's my job...
