If I had to put my money on it, I would guess Domination statistically gets played more than any other match type.
My reasoning for this is that I regularly search for skirmish but it seems to take much longer than ambush and specifically domination.
Either way, because of curiosity alone I would very much like to see numbers / stats if any are available?
(I guess FW is least popular? Or maybe Planetary Conquest)

Rattati and I are exact opposites. Good to know.
I prefer Skirmish (FW if I get on during the 15 minutes those games work). If its the 3 point, I usually leave.
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

Funny, I absolutely hate Dom and I hardly ever play it, but I also generally dislike 5-point Skirmishes, particularly the Gal Research Facility. My favourites are the 3-point (Manus Peak), then Line Harvest (4-point), then Ashland (5-point)

Skirm or Dom for tactical thrills - Ambush for cheap suits and isk profit.
You know what would make skirmish less of a chore? Jet packs!

I'm with Soraya, I feel like Dom is a campfest with snipers and rail guns so I avoid it like the plague. I haven't played it in a long time so maybe I'll give it a run. Ambush is my favorite. It's quick ISK but it's a game mode where you can sometimes get screwed by spawn points and range weapons usually dominate. Skirm is easily the most balanced game mode but I really only play it when I'm running FW. |

I can do well in any Skirmish match. So I like Skirmish in that no matter what comes up I can do well.
I do well in most Domination maps, but as a Sentinel I am screwed in Manus Peak domination, and the King of the Kill map (Fractured Road) tends to be a meat grinder for anyone who gets within 100m of the objectives whether defending or attacking.
In Ambush I like it when there are clearly defined battle lines, but it sucks when I donGÇÖt know which direction the enemy is going to be coming from, or if they are so spread out that they are coming from every direction and are all out of range of my HMG.
So, I guess my favourite is Domination, as long as it is not Manus Peak or Fractured Road.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Domination is so boring and doesn't require a whole of of thought besides get on the highest point and spam heavies / just throw yourself at the enemy but I guess that's why most people like it.
I need to be able to think for a game to be fun which is why I stay out of Pubs all together especially domination. PC and FW are my favorite game modes.
CCP holds the Caldari's hand so this doesn't happen again.

I love the 5 point maps! Seems more tactical I guess, don't know. The 3 point manus peak one is a rough map if you don't have a 6 man squad. Guess it depends on perspective?
The new 5 point open map is great for dropships, tanks, and lavs! Squads that can tactically apply those vehicles in support of troops do really well there! It's all open range fighting across certain areas, but CQC at the same time in and around the points! It really challenges us to be more versatile in our squads in my opinion.
The other maps are ok, but the tactics are generally always the same?! I don't know the name of that 5 pointer, but I know B, A, and D are in line with the bridge while E and C are home points. I always do well on that map in skirmish.

i usually start with all 3 selected then after we do the one scotty selects
i take the check mark off so it wont repeat the battletype for the next selection,
all the modes are fun as long as i dont do too many of the same type in a row

Really? You're the opposite to me. I love skirmish with as many objectives and stuff to hack as possible. Its great to flex my scouts speed or my logis fast hacking on the bigger maps.
Domination can make for some good battles but I prefer skirmish and ambush myself. I just find that I consistently earn much less isk in Domination compared to similar scores in skirmish.

I prefer Dom when I run solo, which is the norm and Skirmish in a squad. Skirmish can be frustrating when you play solo, trying to push an objective by yourself or not being able to figure out what other people are trying to do. Domination is simple but not just pew pew.

Maybe you should look at that. Why don't you like 5 point?
I know why I dont. Maps like fracture road and border gulch are just too large and spread out for 16v16. Tighten em up move the redline and the sockets closer. Maybe even get rid of an objective or two?
If I didn't have BPO LAV's id drop out of em too.

Manus Peak is easily the best, there's no cover for anyone, and it's really easy to see everything and use the cloak to sneak up on people. If I could, I would literally only play on Manus Peak <3

I play ambush most of the time and domination once in a while. I do not like having to run around in skirmish so I never play it. |
