I would be the first to donate just to see a player trade market, inertia added to movement, the actual ScR fix (not the nerf it got even after we pointed out the real problem), a Planetary Conquest makeover (that includes more gear, ships, upgrades, and pirating), More EVE/DUST414 interaction, and so much more that could be done with a client patch or two!
I would go so far as to say you would collect enough to put legion on PS4! You could advertise to build the player base! All of the guys who play blacklight retribution would definitely play a new and improved dust! Your competition on the PS4 system is non existent?! Destiny is great for what it is, but is no DUST!
Start a kickstarter! I've seen them started for utter stupidity, and people donated anyway?! I would much rather the donations went straight toward a ps4 port. That would guarantee longevity and then we can worry about all that other jazz and it could take as long as CCP needs because it would no longer be on a last gen console where a lot of players ps3's are starting to die or have already died.

I am, by no means, asking people to spend more than they are comfortable. It took hotfix alpha - delta to earn a tiny sliver of my trust back, but I am spending money on Dust 514. Even still, I am not spending nearly as much as I spent prior to the Rouge Wedding.

Edit: They could and probably do make a tone of money for nice skins hell I paid 10$ for a suit I can't even use yet lol as long as the players can be sure they can have there suits in legion charge what you want and when legion starts don't sell these suits so you can tell the dust players from the noobs lol. Start by putting quafe gear on the marked 20$ a pop cosmetics are how ftp mmos make there money look at gw2 I have friends that would burn 300$ on legendary weapons and 150-200 on trying to get weapons with cool spell effects.
I don't play swtor anymore, but every once in a while I log in to drive around in my no longer obtainable pvp speeder cause I ******* rock lol.

What I do is acknowledge the work done to Dust 514 by CCP Rattati and Logibro.
All of the hotfixes up until now are worth at least $15 so that's what I pay. If the future hotfixes are of similar quality then I will continue to pay that much.
If the quality of the hotfixes goes down, I will buy less aurum or none at all.
If the quality of the hotfixes goes up, I will buy more aurum.
If we receive a client update, I will buy more aurum.
P.S. - It's $15 I've spent more on milk in the last month.

Im pretty sure you missed Bradrics point. The goal is to get dust visibility outside of the current market space and video gaming community who already plays it.
Buying Aurum Occurs as an in game activity. Doing this consistently is not going to get us where Bradric's post is expressing.

Last I checked Sony (aka PSN) doesn't charge for a new release of a game in the store. The Other Company does, to the tune of $40k for each release past the first update. That might have changed since I checked. 
In New Eden no SP is wisely spent.
CCP will Nerf the reason right out from under you.
