They should but everyone will say no and the only reasons will be: everyone will skill into FOTM or stick with the choices you made. Which aren't actual reasons. |

I am happy with my choices -_- well satisfied what is it they say luck favors the prepared. I agree with echo everyone would just spec in to fit of the month craps then we would be having the same discussion next month. Paid re-specs might be a good idea, but with the flux in balancing intended or not would make the game pay to win so best just left alone.

I would want a respect, I would change a few things but that's about it. If I really wanted FOTM stuff I would get it. I think that they should give a weaponry respect after Hotfix Echo when they have balanced the guns correctly. |

Cal scout isn't op. It has a broken hitbox which is most likely due to bad coding. All they need to do to scouts is make them have to use ewar mods. Then scouts won't be such a problem. |

Hmm.. if everyone is speced into cal scout, then there would be perfect balance? No?

Yes, after the hoxfixs though
But have you guys noticed how the devs have been saying things like "There will not be a respec given THIS hot fix"
Smells fishy, though it could just be a red herring.

At this point I don't care either way. I think a big issue is the time it takes to give everyone a respec. CCP has been busy fighting off attacks so they probably didn't have time to do it. Maybe that's why they said THIS hotfix would have no respec. Does this imply there's one coming? Idk.
What happened to the repair tool glow?
Why won't CCP answer?
Conspiracy?

Here's the problem: The hotfixes should never end.
World of Warcraft is about to celebrate it's tenth anniversary, and they're still regularly tweaking the balance between classes almost every patch. People need to stop thinking they're entitled to a redo every month and learn to adapt to new gameplay.

What do you mean? Everything is perfectly balance in EVE, an 11+ year old game, and they never do rebalances/repurposing/reworking of ANYTHING over there....right?

Skill point respec....HECK NO. FOTM chasers would rejoice and then after another hotfix we would get another thread saying this/that was changed..so another respec needed...........just deal with your choices.
HOWEVER, I would be onboard with an inventory respec. Keep all your officer gear and the like but other items that can be bought on the market;sell them. I have bought suits or collected suits that i can't use..i would sell them..but no market
I think that would clear up so inventory issues for most or if not using said items than you would at least get your isk back.

Everything is available as a militia version now, right?
That is enough to motivate a full respec, since you can test and fool around with HMGs and bolt pistols without actually specing into them, in order to make choices that matter.

An asset refund and a respec along with some kind of change to PC or introduction of corp battles would be pretty huge.
I think the benefits of an asset refund would be huge to get current players fighting harder. I think the respec would bring people back.
To me it's a nobrainer. I'd center it around another clone challenge as well, just for icing on the cake.

Infrequent periodic respecs are a good idea.
The significance of our choices directly depends upon the significance of their consequences. Permanence adds to the importance of a decision, but our spec choices aren't permanent. They're changed with every patch that affects the skills we've chosen.
Our choices become arbitrary to the degree that CCP changes the effects of the skills we've chosen. After enough changes, a respec is necessary to maintain the significance of our choices; otherwise CCP's choices, about how they modify the effects of our skills, becomes more important than our choice of skills.
One a year or every couple of years, CCP should offer a respec. Charging real world money for more frequent respecs is a potential income stream a lot of us would support, that falls well short of pay-to-win ugliness.
If the complaint is that respecs support FOTM chasers, the solution is to diminish the severity of FOTM advantages. The complaint that respecs diminish the significance of our choices, has always been an empty argument, in the face of an actively maintained game with a frequently changing skill tree.
The occasional thread to remind CCP that their customers are aware of all this, is actually a pretty good use of a forum thread. |
