Crying and whining about losing battles from roof top campers while sitting in the safe confines of your Missile tank. How ironic.
Or is it moronic?
You had me on your side about the bullsh!t rooftop campers until you said you wouldn't get out of your tank.
I have been in many dominations where they held the high ground and still lost because they couldn't defend the point. They were trapped up high. I have been in many battles where we were trapped up high.

Orbitals are reserved for squads that are stomping people into the ground now. They should have a progressive requirement so that the little guys have a chance at bombing the squads that have locked down a point.

Tanks are so weak now. They are good for farming warpoints. Your argument is invalid. I will camp all match up high with IAFG and farm points and blow up tanks. They sit in their crutch,, I will sit up higher on mine. |

It would be nice if deployable equipment had an "electrical" field component that limited overlapping radius of nearby equipment. Set the number to two, for example. Someone drops a deployable that is already overlapped by 2 other pieces of equipment, the newly placed unit disappears and is unrecoverable. People would need to be more strategic, and you wouldn't have lag monsters like the underground supply depot in the lab.
As for the OP, I'm not going to argue with an angry Englishman. Sorry to hear your squad mates have left the game. There are plenty of others willing to squad up. And regarding Judge, I thought he was away due to RL issues, not because he's playing Destiny. I just can't see someone like Judge snubbing us like that. Pyrex, yes. Judge, no. |

That's the point though. Tanks and other vehicles would matter as would their counters. The hack being quick and therefore the least problematic thing would allow tanks et al to have limited effectiveness in the hack. Even if they are sitting right there they can't shoot a qhole squad who could say, hack in one second. AV could absolutely bombard tanks from a safe distance and could be used with little recourse for a whole squad going AV (Again due to how the hqck would be carried out).
Then the problem becomes holding the other team off of a counter hack. Rather than a team sitting on the objective for long periods it could be a one minute tick before it can be counter hacked and a win would come from the total amount of time held, made up of one or two minute periods of the objective being on your side.

I was thinking on limits on uplink distance. Hard to do that though, I imagine. Definitely a client patch thing. And really, being able to fortify is a big part of defending. It just needs to be a little more handleable. I don't really think it should be open to tanks, but it should be approachable by infantry from a lot of directions. Parking tanks, LAVs, and dropships in the way of the point on Dom is really annoying. (See the LAV in the crate on Line Harvest.)

I think it's a balance. An orbital can help a team who's down clear an area so they can press in and take an objective. Orbitals are monumentally helpful in capturing the point in Dom. But the spam before was definitely WAY too much, and I agree with the change that was made. I just think maybe instead of 5000 WP, it could be like 4000 WP or something. Still less than before.

Yeh the uplink spam on domination on buildings/high grounds is just silly. the ADS nerf was aswell a factor cause with them you actually had a chance to destroy upliks+twatts camping there. Now its allmost impossible to do so. Couldnt there be a hight limitiation of where you can put uplinks? Like the same where you cant call in vehicles on top of a building? So if the location is too high the deployed link gets destroyed. It would aswell make PC matches more interesting.

If the mercenaries, ya know, actually banded together and worked towards the victory, they would win. Too many people trying to do their own solo thing instead of that of a team.
I've been in dom matches with guys whom I didn't know but put in a effort to win the match. We were in the dumps but the synergy increased. People actually used teamwork and we brought the game back in our favor leading to a nice do or die finish at the end.
I even play solo alot, but I will jump in a squad with a empty slot in a heartbeat.
If the team play as a team instead that of a solo blueberry, then they would win or die trying.
The problem with all these "the new matchmaking system doesn't work" threads is that people fail to realize that you cannot change how a blueberry plays. If he wants to do solo and say eff the teamwork crap, he's going to do it.
The truth is, the new set of playerbase is really not that competitive and don't care about teamwork
It's a problem with most games across the board, team based games are ran by solo players only thinking about their own hides.

move the domination hacking points out into open spaces and hacking panels underneath so they cant be defended by rooftop campers and explsoives are easy to remove. every person is exposed while trying to defend or attack. vehicles become the best way to assault/defend the objective. ads can make passes without being annoyed by obstacles and at the same time are vunrable to being countered. tanks have nowhere to hide while need to repair. lavs....would probably get good use. anyone cant go top of the buildings but theyd be out of the way and usless to have. unless you want to snipe.

1. Swarm'ers at tower dont do any harm to you on the ground. They are good only for dropship defense at this place. 2. I'm solo forge now - most of time when I hunt you - you wander your tank at my redline hungry for kills ;) So there must be hard time for you there soloing (any hard time for tanks ... since beta?). Even more, last time all your team protecting your tank with own bodies catching my forge-frisbee (fun time - even with bad K/D). This make you safe at running around. So dont worry there will be always someone around to hunt or protect you.
You are still at better position then solo AV ;)

When I solo and have this problem I like to grab a cheap heavy with hmg and a viper. Fly up to the ceiling and approach the rooftop campers from behind them and the quickly descend into their position.
I always try to crush them when I land or at least split the group with my DS in the middle of them. Hop out and spray them all in the face with hmg while tossing fluxes on the uplinks.
Depending on how many of them there are it could take multiple attempts but eventually the roof will be cleared.

Domination is a fun gamemode on certain maps if both teams make a fight out of it. The issue with a domination is that you are trying to push out potentially 16 people from one objective. It takes waves of people and a constant battle for high ground. You have to be willing to spend some money to get a good domination match.
It's also vital to get a presence at the point right from the start. You can hit the high ground after push back the initial push in a domination most of the time. But getting a bunch of blueberries to fight through a decent defense just doesn't happen enough, so I put a premium on getting 4 or 5 dudes at the point right of the bat (fast uplink via scout or dropship).
It's a battle for uplinks at this point. The constant waves of dudes spawning in on uplinks that are closer and closer to the point. This is where ADS is really nice. If you make some of the dudes on defense spawn in with AV you've softened it up. A good ADS pilot is killing uplinks and keeping the enemy behind cover as the blues advance on the point. A fast hack min scout scoots in to hack. You know you are in for a fight if there is already an enemy dropship taking the high ground and killing uplinks.
I freakin love a good domination. It comes down to two teams that want to slug it out for pride and will to win because it's an investment. Call it fun tokens because you have to be willing to spend some ISK if both teams decide they aren't going to lose.
Domination needs a much higher payout.
