If CCP says that they can't bring the Vehicles for any reason then the solution is why not create Paints for the Vehicles. Same for the dropsuits and weapons. Why not make Paints aka Colors :D
it would be awesome to have a Gold and black color Caldari HAV to look like the Amar and a Rusty, brown, and orange red color for a Gallente HAV to represent Minmatar :D
We have the dropsuits, AV is balanced from my experience, and other things.
For a Event idea why not create a Vehicle Event that runs for lets say a week in December and everyone can invest in HAV, LAV, and Dropships and relive the golden era again and this time instead of Getting pissed off during HAV vs HAV battles why not enjoy it :D

As the Operative states succinctly, Legion. No work is planned on the PS3 client. Only server side adjustments by CCP Rattiti using the database.
While what you ask for is fairly simple on a PC it is less so on a game console. The PS3 specifically as it only has 512MB of total memory. Xbox 360 has similar although slightly different limitations. To paint means that a method must be available. For console players that would have to be in game, or at least in console. A separate program (aka game) would be possible but unlikely as Sony would treat it like another game. Either way would require development resources that CCP will most likely not return to dust.
In addition you might do a little math to clarify the situation: EVE fan fest is in May. So they have until April to cough up a playable demonstration for Project Legion. If they don't pull that off then its future may will be in question. We know that their investors basically called them out on the never ending development of the vampire MMO (that recent ~$21M write off).
The problem is the EVE fans know who they are dealing with and Dust514 will ring heavily in their ears. The promises, the huge delays, then switching game engines and arriving on the PS3. Where they produced more promises, delays and disappointments. Then killed further work only one year after release. Hardly a ringing endorsement for anything that is not EVE on a PC.
Time will tell, and in this case at least we can guess that May 2015 will factor into it. In a big way. 
In New Eden no SP is wisely spent.
CCP will Nerf the reason right out from under you.

Infantry should have to work hard to take on a vehicle. A well specced vehicle represents a **** ton of SP and ISK investment. Not as much as they once were, thank goodness, but still outpaces the cost of a single dropsuit. |
