The little bonus that all Minmatar suits get to hacking? I'm not complaining about it, but it seems so... illogical. Being the least technologically advanced race, one would imagine that they would actually have a harder time hacking. I understand it is for balance and that balance>realism, but I'd like to hear some sort of explanation for this.
Again. Not complaining, just pointing out how strange it is. |

Again. Not complaining, just pointing out how strange it is. Minmatar achieved massive technical advancements before the Amarr came, they developed it on their own not relying on old tech discoveries like the Amarr did. They are the most adaptive and innovative of all the factions. It only makes sense that they hack faster from my point of view. I suppose that makes a bit of sense. I just can't help but feel that even for all their innovation, the Caldari would be the ones with the best hacking.
Maybe the Minmatar just resort to brute force when it comes to hacking, while the other races rely on more stealthy approaches?...
That sentence makes me want a mechanic in the game that allows for stealthily hacking objectives. It would be cool to hack a point, and the enemy doesn't even know its been hacked until the point is halfway flipped. Of course there would need to be counters to this. There could even be hacking resistances that you could apply to hackable stuff. Man. They could make hacking a whole new aspect to the game, where factors like speed, stealth, detection, and resistance could be racial traits!...
Imagine having a suit built specifically to hack things quickly from a distance. You could hack an enemy RE and have it explode on them! Or you could turn uplinks around, or any equipment and use it against the enemy. You could have one build specifically designed to get around the huge hacking resistances of things like vehicles and kill the driver from the inside! Features like this would make Dust truly unique, and actually set it apart from other lobby shooters. |

I believe that's not quite accurate. I think they get 5% more than other races within that class. Logistics Get +15% Minmatar Logistics gets +20% Scouts get +5% Minmatar Scout gets +10% Assaults get +0% Minmatar Assaults gets +5% No bonus for Heavy frames. Oh. Still kinda weird. I also want hacking to become more complex. There could even be a light frame specialization focused on hacking. |

It's called the Minmatar Scout. +5% to hack speed per level, unless they've since removed it? No, I'm thinking of a new class of light frame dedicated to hacking. Not scouts.
The Amarr suit would be focused on applying resistances to hacking attempts on EVERYTHING, and detecting hack attempts on friendly assets. Basically the anti hacker suit of the bunch. More about fighting hacks than hacking. The Caldari one would be focused on hacking stuff from a distance. The enemy will probably know it is being hacked, but there won't be much they can do about it other than slow it down. The Gallente one would be focused on hacking things stealthily, so that the enemy wont even know something was hacked until it was already turned. Minmatar would be the speed hackers. Able to break through defenses and get the hack through before anything can be done about it. |

Apothecary Za'ki wrote:minmatar.. quick and proficient at hacking.. aka escaping their cells and running away from the Slave masters :P so it makes sence since they get the feculent end of the stick when it comes to EHP Cells? What do you think the Amarr are doing? No no no, its not like they are being imprisoned.
"Slaves" are usually given houses, admittedly not the best of housing, but still better than the average quality of life in New Eden. Slaves aren't doing hard labor either, usually(there are exceptions, I'll admit). Its usually more of an education more than anything. They are taught professions, crafts, and trades. Not worked to death(again, usually, there are bad slave masters but mistreating slaves is punishable by Amarrian law).
Indentured-apprenticeship would be a better word than slave most of the time tbh. Sure they can't leave, but the Amarr are just trying to give them a better life for them and their descendants. They want to be able to welcome the Minmatar as brothers, but before they can do that, Amarrian culture dictates that the Minmatar must be tested and prepared to join the Empire. |
