Logis were one of the best features of this game. They have already gutted them multiple times.

What is this idea that a logistics class shouldn't have the proper means of defending itself? Just a sidearm? Every logistics class had a good primary AND a secondary. Only on Dust do players want the role essentially gimped to a "tag and follow the heavy" role.
Even Battlefield support /medic classes had light machine guns. Thinking of such, I wonder if anybody still gets on BFBC2. Loved that game.

I classify logis in two roles: Leeches and Support.
Leeches are extremely common and are a huge pet peeve of mine. They tend to only leash on fat boys like me and ignore the rest of the team/squa
Supports are few and far in between in my opinion. These guys heal everybody (think Oprah and one of her give aways) and provide actual support with their hives and injectors.
I would love to see these things forced on Leeches to gimp them and force them to be a team multiplier rather than boosting a single player. Unfortunately implementing these things will hinder the true support logis.

Troll? Like I usually do?
What's trolling about my opinion? Are you basically admitting that you come to the forums to only gather information that agrees with your perspective and you wish not to hear any opinions? That anything that objects to your opinions is considered troll?
We aren't talking about balance here though. So who's really trolling?
You asked if they are really support and then go on to say that you think that their primary should be removed and that they should rely on a sidearm, you know, a secondary weapon that is mainly used for emergencies since we all know the primary is the kill weapon.
Do you even know what you're saying? You're saying that they can't be support since they have a primary, which in all honesty its even stupid to consider. No support class in the history of gaming and in war has ever been downgraded to sidearm just because it supports. No support class in the history of gaming and in war has never been taken their primary weapon away or handicapped because they are support.
The only people who ever cry about that are the whiners. You sir, are a whiner. You are whining now in all your G.L.O.R.Y. How is a demonkiller, someone that calls himself a slayer of dark entities, even whining about logistics with a primary weapon. I would think thats the least of your worries.
Yet, you and many others wish to hack this game into your own little play world, further pushing this game into the black pits of emptiness.
Its just like the recall issue. Where are those people who complained about the recall time for vehicles? Yet here I am stuck with what they wanted but they don't even play this game no more. Tick, tick, tick...oh my god, just recall already.
So I disagree with your post. That isn't trolling. That's my opinion. But I get that from people like you. The pamper poopers who are so used to everybody kissing their ass that when they don't get what they want, they consider that person to be abnormality. Damn shame.

So far the CCPs stance on logistic suits are that they are, as others, field combat suits - specializing in supporting the team. I remember a quote "fighting alongside the squad while keeping the war fueled by providing spawns and ammo" *)
That is the general role idea for logis - unless CCP 'officially' changes it, that is...

Quite frankly there is two problems with the logi class. The first is how much crap they can spam out. I would like to see logi equipment more focused, longer lasting but with the ability to crap out six to eight hives and links apiece brought down while bringing up the longevity / utility of individusl units.
Second Logis are squishy as hell because of a few factors. Upping the EHP would need to come with commando slot layouts to keep them from being able to repeat the old slayer logi issue.
It was the near-sentinel HP levels that created the slayer logis. So the EHP has to either stay between scout and assault or they must lose significant fitting utility.
I think buffs to things like detection, speed, etc. Should be combined over raw EHP increases in order to make them more survivable and to keep them from becoming the best combat dropsuits.

First of all i would like the same slot layout progression of assault suits. Then there are 2 ways:
1) Going towards assault/heavy: keep current logi speed, give to them the same stats of assault and a little more HP to counter the speed penalty.
2) Going towards scout: keep all logi stats as they are now but increase biotics related stats (stamina, speed, stam. regen) to be slightly better than assault but not as good as scouts.
I prefer option 2.
Lock weapons to side arms only is stupid, as a logi you only have one weapon, it's already a great disadvantage in combat, even if current side arms are a viable option, light weapons are more reliable and you can't depend on other players for everything.

your weapon does not matter on a logi most of the time.
most of the time as a real logi you are repairing and setting up equipement and you get more WP for doing it than shooting stuff. if a HMG shoots you, you die in a split second and you cant really defend. if a scout sneaks up, which is not hard to do, one shot to the head with the shotgun and you die instantly in most cases (or he uses an RE) and you cant defend. snipers wreck you in 2 hits or a single headshot and you cant defend
leaves you with fights against other assaults where you have a chance to win a firefight, but assaults sport more hp and can dictate engagement against logis. you most likely die.
I would rather like to see option 3: commando like which means great base HP and not many hi/low slots, ewar detection capability between assault and scout. |

Anyone with enough SP to spec into assault shouldn't be using a logi for slaying period, there is no advantage.
Why does my logi have 8 slots though? Running EWAR or cardio enhancers on your logi gets you no where and you wild be better running a scout-logi (this should be fixed but don't see it happening anytime soon).
In the end the only viable option for those 8 slots is health to stay alive.
Instead give us better base stats: health and cardio stats in between assault and scouts. I would personally rather have the scout slot layout with a lithe boost to health and the ability to scan medium frames, maybe undamped lights with max precision skills.

Who do you think gets shot first when you're behind a heavy, and someone gets behind you? What can you do against an ADV assault, or even just an ADV medium frame with a Toxin SMG? I have an uplink suit with a STD Min logi with an SMG, because that's all I can fit. But on my ADV logi fits, I have a GEK for better offense. Why? Because I don't want the people I'm keeping alive to die due to them dealing not enough damage. You need to know when to shoot, and when to rep. When I need to shoot, I don't want a Toxin in my hands.
