I see loads of topics and post about various FOTM being both OP and then the guys using it claiming its not OP and back and forth and back and forth. in cases like this you have to ask one simple question...
"if it isn't OP then why is everyone using it?"
Blind fire Swarms/Heavy suit - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
Rapid fire TAC Rifle - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
Chromo Laser rifle - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
LogiLAVs - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
Mass Driver/Flaylocks - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
Vehicles in general earlier this year - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
Rail Rifles/Heavy suits - if it wasn't OP then why was everyone using it?
its the same in every FPS game, someone finds a setup/layout/suit that works slightly not as intended, a small combo that the devs overlooked and someone found that if you put A with B you get OMG and thn they tell thier friends who set it up, who then tell their friends and so on and so forth and then when devs say they gonna fix it we then get the whole "wah-wah-wah i wanna respec wah-wah-wah" lot on the forums.
so to save future respec whining, when you're about to train into something just ask yourself that one simple question and you'll save us all a helluva lot of time

The real way to decide if something is OP is to use it against every other thing in the game and shut it down, the fighting game formula. If a mediocre player can handle a vet by "button mashing" something may be overpowered. In dust a lot of thing are stronk but only 1 can be THE stronk. And it is subject to change.

i've recently started a new caldari alt (to get the RR BPO) and even without skills applied it can easly take down a heavy frame with ammo to spare. gamers will find a way to abuse something in the oppertnity to gain an advantage but what pees me off is when they then come whining when it gets fixed lol
how many folk have skilled into the caldari scout because of its insane passive scan ranges? people are skilling into lasers again because of the better range they got and the amount of damage they do and when it comes to rail rifles, to be honest i'm tired of seeign it in my killfeeds. 90% of kills on both red and blue sides are probs RR's at the moment that makes it clearly obvious that something isn't right and even the devs will ask the same question as i have. "why are so many people using X item?"
as someone said. peopel using militia combat rifle becaus eits on the frontline suit, again. how many people are now telling new players to create caldari characters because of the rail rifle bpo.

If a fitting is powerful, but easily countered by another fitting that currently exists, then it isn't overpowered at all.
