Back on topic, I doubt the playerbase of South America would be big enough to support its own server. Remember a lot of those Spanish names are Mexican or Central American, and those guys are nearer to the US than Rio or wherever the new server would be. There will be fewer actual South Americans playing than Asians, and that server struggles for numbers as it is. |

Not trying to be one of those guys who say "ban these laggers!", but from an objective viewpoint it does make sense considering how every other continent (barring Australia) has it's own server, and since there is a large amount of players from South America, it wouldn't have negative repercussions on game-play.
Though I doubt CCP will put money into DUST for a new server. Forget racism, I'm all about jingoism. Give the U.S. its own server and leave the rest for South and Central America and Canada. Better yet, include them on the European server. They're all practically European in every way except geographic juxtaposition.
That's on the same level as moving Americans onto the Oceania server because they're all basically British colonials  |

I doubt this, as there are many, many players who play DUST that are from South America, as evident by the vast amount of players from corporations such as "DUST BRAZIL" and "COALITION LATINA". Mexico & Central America (for the most part) are North American, so they'd automatically be assigned to the NA server.

Surprised that there are apparently so many South Americans. Ordinarily games only have a small proportion of their playerbase in South America. The US, Europe and Japan are the biggest three console markets by a long way. Is there some reason why Dust is apparently so popular among South Americans? Or are you guys maybe overestimating a little because they stand out due to their names and (apparently) lag? |
