Hard nerfs, & new sp allocations for newbies. Must have a respec, also most of the vets already got 70+mil SP & skilled into what they want. So please let us noobs get a respec so we nhave an edge against the vets. |

Been here since day 1 closed beta 36m sp. Don't really care either way. A respec will allow the fotm chasers to leave scouts and heavies which I'm against since they deserve a nerf.

There should be a big red button in the Merc Quarters that gives you a full respec, no questions asked.
Because, it just doesn't matter and no one should care what anyone else does with their SP.

Agreed , even more so with a game that's on life support .
I for one would .. can't understand those who are against it , just don't file for one ... a system should be set up in place so that those who would like one , can file for one after delta so we can be done with this subject and get this whole thing over with already .
I can see why it wasn't done after the infantry changes before FF but now , that there were more changes .. it's only right and would even up the playing field so that those who are really assaults can be assaults and get out of scouts and heavies .
I could care less about FOTM because right now there is no clear cut FOTM and that's the way it should be but the oversaturation of scouts is killing this game for a lot of players as you can see posts from players on a regular .
After Delta , a thread should be in place for players to become informed and then a filing process so that those who would like a refund can acquire one and those who don't , won't be bothered .
Lets get this done already so that we can more on and some fun can be had by those who are clamoring for a refund , if it's a full or infantry ... right now with the climate and how boring this game is for some , this could bring some new energy into the whole mix .
Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

Agreed. As much as Im guilty of wasting SP and would like it back, I can live with my decisions. I was surprised at how well I was doing w my alt with no SP and militia gear. Leveling up stuff seems it just gives you more padding to allow for more reckless playstyles. Some encounters there's just no way out of, you'll die no matter lvl your at. |

Haven't you noticed by now when players start to talk about refunds and all , that we magically get an event like the one that we just had and that was because of the release of Destiny over anything else .
It's cool that those who are pleased with their system ... and you have roll over SP's in place so that you can adapt and change up but there are some who are not happy with their layout and feel that if they could change how their set-up's are , that would breath a new life into this game .
How is that so wrong and who in the community who really cares about the community , would be against that ???
It's nice to feel like you can sculpt your character the way that you like and not have some access baggage of useless items and wasted skill points .
Those who have been here long enough , know that you had countess chances to change things that were changed and were able to rearrange the constant directional changes ( much like now ) that this game had in it's early days .
There should be no vet against a refund .
You have the SP cushion , knowledge and experience to handle it also you had a chance to experience it yourself in the early onset of the game .
I really can't see a new player ( Not an alt ) that would be against it as well because that's like shooting yourself in the foot .
Let's just get this done already .
Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

while I have some sp in skills I regret, I'm kind of for and kind of against respecs.
On one hand, I don't see how respecs harm the community, and they are a good way of retaining players, especially new ones who are hovering in the 1 million to 10 million (where a respec would help the most).
On the other hand, too many respecs will really play havoc with fotm builds. So I think we should have a respec once in a blue moon. maybe once every three or four hotfixes, and one at the beginning of every client update or inclusion of new guns and suits etc. But no more than that and definitely not one after we just finished the Million Clone Challenge.
If you can't wait until then, I think CCP should charge money for special skill boosters that reset your sp for a respec. That way if you really really want a respec now, you at least help CCP stay up a little longer (and thus help the rest of the players to enjoy Dust a little longer).

That's quite a bit, Is there anything left to skill into at that point? You prob have a harder time finding things in your skill tree to spend SP on than worrying yourself on what to spend it on. |

People like me would gain the most:
Medicore veteran player with 63mil SP.
Skill into coreskills and FOTM.
Spare the rest (maybe 25mil ?)
wait for nerf of FOTM
skill into next FOTM
wait for whiners who are to stupid to spend their SP wisely to get me another respec.
Rinse and repeat.

i agree that you would have to pay aur for it. it would atleast help ccp alot considering i know if people regret or made mistakes of trying out a certain fitting then soon disliked it would have the choice to have a reboot with sp |

again... its the gamers choice to pay real money to have respec or not you don't have to pay if you don't want a respec. its a legit system used many other games. yes. the events great ccp does alot for us. but if the ccp decides to get more money? and people who find out they wasted skills into something later find out they don't want. why not give the players the power to make up for their choices. and with all the changes to stats on many things. give the power to the players and money in the pockets of ccp |

Think about it this way, you essentially give me back 47 million skill points to spend back into things I wanted. You would also leave prone FoTM (good lord I hate using this term) as I expected from this past Million clone challenge event when everyone was handed a free 2 million (3 million if you had a booster. 4 million if you had an omega? someone check for omega.). To me 2 million alone was enough to get the desired suit or get things in your drop-suit core upgrades done (I really hope new players did this. Core upgrades help out in the long run).
Even veteran players like myself made horrid choices to spend skill into and wish we had N number of chances to correct the n number of mistakes (N being a variable of times we need to realize we screwed up and wish for do-overs. n being a variable of the number of screw up we did or a skill we found to be useless).
I agree there should be a re-spec but up to a max out value to keep players like myself from becoming more dangerous. I say people under 20 million could have a re-spec.

that is a better way to think of it i mean.. that is a great idea. it would help the balancing issue between vets and noobs and in between in almost any game that has to do with skills that really matter its always good to beable to have a fresh start in some way |

Lets get this done already so that we can move on and some fun can be had by those who are clamoring for a refund , if it's a full or infantry ... right now with the climate and how boring this game is for some , this could bring some new energy into the whole mix .
This mantra has been sung since the game went into full release on almost a daily basis and at least weekly. Console FPS players can't handle how DUST handles SP and therefore beg, plead, threaten and curse everything to try to get what they want. I haven't played since FF and I had just broken 24M SP and I was it the first wave of closed beta players. Respecs don't help as much as people think they do. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer and the fat get fatter because they keep doing the same things that made them that way. Poor or uninformed SP placement will never change and "noobs" will always make the same mistakes, players will always cry foul to try to get RESPECS!!! because of a tweak and good players will always beat bad players no matter the SP. Weird how that works.

This I have to agree with. Low SP toons don't have enough to really change their game, high SP players have enough to max most things but the middle group have just enough to re-specialize and make a little difference. The last partial respec didn't do much for me. I skilled the same suits and had a bit left over to skill into a weapon that I didn't enjoy and won't use.

You know with the way that this game is and how so much is out of wack , it would be fun to have one's destiny in their own hands and allow players to change with the game and the knowledge that they now have .
It would be nice for players to play to their full potential every match ( note the spinning MCC and home spawn guardians and people who team kill and players who jerk off in vehicle turrets and so on ) and some would like to use their skill points in ways that help them to feel that they have more of a hold in the creation of their character .
Your totally missing the point of why some would like a refund .
Create a better environment and more entertaining experience .
Who would fight that with common sense and speak on behalf of the community at the same time .
If it's not all that , it shouldn't break the game in any way .. so why act against it ..??.., to bust balls or try to act as a game breaker ..??.., there are more then enough of those types that work threw their campaigns to try to nerf items and once changes that occur that would actually help to improve the environment , they fight those tooth and nail .
I just don't see the big deal if it's not effecting the community in a negative way but we always have all the fuss over this topic every time it's brought up ( Before people use to use that excuse , choices matter but check the forums to see how many talk about the changes and how it effects them ) , like it would help some to become OP or something or destroy the environment in any way .
It wasn't a problem for those who reaped in the early stages and the changes of the game that's happening now , is a reflection of it's remaining life span and what type of impact that it will have once it's transplanted , what's wrong with those who are not able to follow , having a enjoyable experience in their last moments ?
Why is this concept fought now of all times ???
Why must people reason to enjoy their playing experience , when it doesn't and wont have a negative effect on the community as a whole and might just increase the numbers of players who play and also the time that they play as well .
How is that negative ???
Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

vets with an insane amount of SP are no better than the rest of us.
when i reach 40 million i will have a full proto scout, logi AND heavy with one sidearm, two heavy weapons, and two light weapons all proto.
and that will pretty much be the endgame. i don't need to proto out my assault to know what it feels like because i used to run min logi as a slayer and i still run gal logi as a slayer, and i ran my caldari assault blueprint enough to have a pretty good feeling.
im not very interested in vehicles but i pretty much am almost finished with my full proto gunnlogi character with missiles which means soon i will even have a python.
so anything beyond 40 mil in my opinion is overkill and is no better than the guy with 10 or 15 that has a full proto suit. |

How is that negative ??? Edit : I just don't see what a console has to do with anything , what's wrong with you PC players .. are you racist against a game platform ? It's always #PCMASTERRACE with you people . Is it really that serious ? #MOREIMPORTANTTHINGSINLIFE .
First, I own two PC games. One being EVE and the other being SImcity nothing to do with #PCMasterRace. I just bought Simcity last week and EVE has been on my PC for going on three years. I am a console gamer. I have owned every PS except the 4 and I will be buying one soon. I have a VITA I play daily.
Secondly, it does have a negative effect on the community. One of the selling points of DUST514 and of New Eden is the persistence. Yes, I understand that the game hasn't lived up to expectations, promises weren't fulfilled and that the game seems unpolished and underdeveloped but that doesn't mean we should throw it all to the wind and just go all out in every direction. We still have to stay-somewhat-in the vision and abide by the rules set by the universe.
The Robot Devil wrote:[C]onsole FPS players can't handle how DUST handles SP...
Lastly, when I said that I am pointing to how almost all other FPS games handle upgrades and the such. I say console FPS because we, the console players, are more conditioned to being able to just throw our characters all about willy nilly. I would group PC FPS in there but I am not a PC gamer so I can't speak to that end as well. The problem with DUST and respecs isn't the game it is the gamers mentality, we are accustomed to having it our way and many players can't handle not being able to change their character on a whim.
I am not downing console gamers, I am speaking about a group I am part of and I consider myself to be a console gamer. EVE throws people the same curve, they expect to be able to just throw money down and get the "golden gun" but it isn't like that and they also don't realize or care that it takes time to get somewhere. By providing a respec every time something is changed we set a bad precedent for New Eden and for all players that come after us. I have never asked for a respec and I never will because it goes against the very essence of what New Eden is about.

you are talking about a game that is just a beta for the PC version. just saying. it might have mattered once long time ago but currently it is as significant as the poo I flush down the toilet every day.
beside that the positive aspects overshadow the "negatives" by far, especially because the negatives are just "some bitter kids dont want others to have nice things". if those bitter kids are butthurt about people getting a respec, well this would be a double win cause their tears are delicious.
anyway, we wont get any respec. the respec itself is most likely something you can do in 15 minutes, it is after all just a database query & insert command of a few lines. the testing, server preperation and support of players where it went wrong on the other hand is an effort which CCP obviously do not want to spend time on. |
