Also I would like to know this:
Suppose there are 32 high mu players and 32 low mu players. What does the matchmaker do?
1. Form two battles, each containing a mixture of high and low mu on each team
OR
2. Form one battle with all 32 high mu players, and another battle with all 32 low mu players
Option 1 is fine, I think this is just the sort of balanced matchmaking people want
Option 2 is not fine at all. It basically means that high mu and low mu players are not really playing the same game anymore. Good but low mu players won't get the chance that they do at the moment of improving themselves by playing against better players. Likewise, because they're not in the same games as vets, they will be much less likely to join vet corps and learn from more experienced players.
Basically what I'm saying is 'matchmaking good, apartheid bad'. |

Basically what I'm saying is 'matchmaking good, apartheid bad'. Off topic but... Option 2 challenges high skill players, if you always do well you need a challenge. Always do poorly you will be put against other low skill players. NFL shouldn't be on the same field as the high school team ( as often as they are currently ). NFL=multimillion dollar salary High school=zero salary
So maybe the 'NFL' queue should get 10,000,000 ISK per merc, per game, and the 'high school' queue should get 1,000 ISK per merc, per game.
I'd be cool with option 2 if it's done on those terms. |
