The reason being that, post Delta, the non-assault variant will be very much a mid-to-mid-long range TAC rifle, what with the proposed changes to ROF and hip fire dispersion. Changes, I hasten to add, I thoroughly agree with. It's just that I like to run as much Amarr tech as possible on my suits to get the most out of the racial bonuses and I don't want to have to fork out and then struggle to fit the advanced tier assault variants just to stay relatively competitive in CQC situations. It's also a tremendously fun weapon to use. After spending so much time and concentration on lining up charged head shots spray n pray lazor beamz can be a nice change of pace.
I can't see why they shouldn't be on the standard tier, but would be interested to hear others' thoughts on the matter.
Thanks.

I'm not sure, I'd like to be able to run a cheap Tac AR myself... But it seems a bit cheesy & takes away a bonus for people that spec just a few points into a weapon type. |

True, but he precedent has already been set within other weapon types, most notably the AR. The key thing to remember is that the ascr is not inherently more powerful than its TAC cousin, indeed, on paper, it has lower DPS and suffers from burning through ammo quite rapidly. It just offers another style of play to the laser enthusiast.

Delta should come with a SP or infantry SP refund so that a campaign for one is not needed .

The balancing factor to that problem is that people who drop two points I to the operational skill and then spray the assault with complete abandon will be quickly be scouring the market for heat resistant hands.

Don't you guys find that the AScR has to much dispersion, such that it negates much of its 8800m effective range? And it's already limited by its damage profile. |

Dispersion feels fine to me; if anything, it's the muzzle flash that puts me off of my aim. Less of that would be welcome. And the damage profile is offset by a decent damage per shot and the highest base ammo count of all the AR-types (I think).
Which is not to say I think it's amazing; it's already been recently revealed to be the poorest-performing weapon variant, which is why it might be receiving a minor buff in Delta. Whatever they do, I still would like them to open out the range of weapon types that us laser lovers have access to.

Variants of other weapons should be included on the STD at the same time.

AcR is getting nerfed by all accounts, so perhaps it won't be such an issue.

All or none, though I am fairly sure that something like this might require a client update (which means we will not be getting it anytime soon).
If it doesn't require a client update and is something that can be done fairly simply (copy-pasting code, changing names, tweaking values) then yes, I would fully support every version of every weapon at every tier (make the non-basic ones at standard require XXXXXXXXXX Operation 2)

CCP stated that they're capable of making new weapons from existing models, and as such this wouldn't require a client update. An easy example, is how they added in MLT CRs, RRs, and SCRs in HF Bravo.

Your bias and inability to present arguments objectively really hampers your credibility. Just because you feel a weapon is imbalanced, doesn't change the fact that their variant(s) should have a STD tier.

There is a STD breach assault rifle,, there should then be a STD assault rail rifle, assault scrambler rifle, assault combat rifle, tac assault rifle, burst assault rifle. |

I would like to see a Standard Assault Combat Rifle, as I would like to be able to setup a Standard Min Commando fit. I get joint pain after two matches if I try to use a semiautomatic rifle, due to the rapid finger movements required. (I am getting old. )
The Rifles are balanced at the Proto level. To get the damage values for the Standard Assault Combat Rifle and Standard Assault Scrambler Rifle all you would have to do is shift the graph to match up on the Standard Rifles we have now, then the position of the Assault Combat and Assault Scrambler Rifles on the graph will tell you what their DPS should be.

Perhaps? But breach variants are available at 2 and the scram assault pistol is also available at 2 or 3 (I forget), so really I can see no inherent reason as to why weapon variants can't be opened up to newer players.
For me, I want to see a choice to invest in a weapon type to offer plenty of opportunities for different styles of play, so that new players won't necessarily have to spec into CR if they want to CQC effectively when really they enjoy the feel of rail tech the most. I want all weapon types to offer an assault, a breach, a tac and a burst, and from there we balance which type is naturally strongest at each of those play styles.

As far as I'm aware, there are no tier 1 'variants' of any weapons so, sit down, be quite, HTFU, if you wana use advanced gear pay the cpu/pg cost. |
