i think that the dust players tyhat have gone over will be back in a month or so, i give it that long..
i played the beta the pvp was too COD'ish i went 45/6 and that was that its abit too cartoony/kiddish for me tbh (not strategic)

No amount of content is going to change it from what it is.

I'll be playing both.
I have lots of people here I enjoy playing with but my corp is also setting up a wing in Destiny.
I hadn't made my decision to buy until last night, but it's downloaded and installed waiting for me to get home tonight to play.
I'll be logging into Dust first though to get my Daily, then switching over to Destiny for a bit, then probably back to Dust.
Destiny is the first game I've bought in years, Dust is the game that made me unpack my PS3.
I'm not going anywhere soon. |

I don't see Destiny as a replacement for Dust by any means. Totally different experiences, only thing they really share is that they're both shooters and both sci fi. So I'll continue to play both

I won't be getting Destiny for another month or so. I'm saving up for the PS4 bundle which is a great price. Once I get that I'll probably just stay on PS4, my PS3 is getting old anyways, I've had it for 7 years straight and I'm reasy to retire it.

Feel kinda left out as well, Destiny was the only game I've really wanted to play on the ps4 so I've held out buying one last winter. After reading the reviews and watching youtube videos I hope there is more to the game than what I've seen.
I'll continue to enjoy this game that I've recently become addicted to, at least until Christmas time. Plan is new t.v.s for everyone, and passing ps3 down to kids and upgrading to ps4 at that point. Hopefully something else interests me in the ps4 library by then or i'll be spending a lot of time in the kids room. |

I think there are some people who consider Destiny a PvP game like Dust, whereas (and I haven't even played it yet) I think it's just a MMORPG with certain PvP elements. That could never replace the experience Dust gives you unless they make it very good and very content-heavy.
I'd say they are both different games with Destiny offering way more story (in which you are actually involved rather than just being random lore) than Dust can hope to achieve.
That said, are those of you who are playing Destiny really swapping back and forth between ps3 and ps4 just to play Dust? You might as well get BF4 or so.
Once I get my ps4 I'll probably keep playing the same 4 games for the following year which are Destiny, FIFA15, Dragon Age Inquisition and WatchDogs. I doubt I have enough time to get anywhere decent with those 4... let alone swap back to Dust as well. |

Thought about getting Destiny as well. I haven't mainly because the PS4 still doesn't have many games that hold my interest as of yet. Never played the beta but watched you-tubers and of course friend testimonials. Seems legit but I think it has been hyped a wee bit too much. Expectations are high, perhaps way more than warranted, that always leads to disappointments...im sure people here can relate TRUE STORY!
I've invested too much into dust, i have personal stakes here, so im playing until dust servers turn to DUST(Give me a cookie)!
Seriously, i'll be getting a PS4 and destiny probably sometime in the future. Just not in the cards at the moment.

I'm going to play it for the story. It's too shallow to hold my attention after running through the PvE content. It's missing the risk/reward factor and deep customization that DUST has. It's also a bit gimmicky with charging up special abilities, and magic is kind of odd/dumb in a sci-fi shooter.

LoL, until the graphical plateau is hit PC only offers 4 things better. After the graphical Plateau is hit, it will only offer one thing, open development. BTW all i'm saying is with the mass quality of QQ on redline, tanks, Scr, AV,Scouts, etc this is what it's going to end up as.

Destiny will not be going free anytime soon. They have already sold a gazillion copies of the game. Hype or no hype, Activision and Bungie made their millions already and that is what their goal is.

yea defiance was 10x funner than that beta but that's not saying a lot. defiance has way more interesting weapons than just higher numbers. but no one's playing defiance right now either. if you wanna play with other players you have to buy destiny reguardless if you find it fun or not. all games are empty because everyone fell under destiny's spell and those who haven't are forced to consider buying it just to play with other players. the whole scheme is just disgusting.

Really any big game like COD could have done that already . There's really no incentive for them to do that since it is the biggest game this year so far. This will boost player numbers and they will probably sell dlc and vanity items etc.
Theres different models, there is no set way of doing it and ultimately, it's all done to make money whatever they do.
Companies are not interested in simply making their money back, its all about profit.

ive been enjoying my volge battle rifle in defiance lately. the best part is that it doesnt have a nano effect. which means its hits or going to be alot more effective than nearly every other gun out there. although it can ohk players in combat. with a headshot.
critical hits on that gun are stupidly powerful. its perfect.
and im pretty sure destiny will go f2p eventually. as its an online only game. the only other option would be to shutdown the servers
but by making it f2p theyd most likely extend the games life span by several more years or so.and rake in more money during that time.
although i think the worst f2p game there is would most likely be ac infinity. the gameplay is good an all but the fact that u have to buy. fuel or have a limited number of at least three games a day is what kills it.
i honestly think the only dlc that should cost money should be cosmetic stuff.

Played Destiny over at my friend's house for about 30 minutes to see what the hype was about.
It plays like an unfunny, uncreative, story-less Borderlands 2. The PvP is so sub-par and reeks with aim assist. I can see why people jumped on the hype train though since it's Bungie and Halo was pretty fun.
I dunno, PvE games are fun for like 30 minutes to an hour at a time for me. I guess PvE is fun for the people who get constantly wrecked in PvP. Shooting mindless robots is a good remedy I guess? The AI is pretty awful too. You can just walk back and wait for your shields or whatever and the AI doesn't do anything about it. After playing it, I wouldn't buy it. Borderlands 2 provides a better experience minus the sh-tty PvP.
The game does look pretty good and runs well compared to DUST, I'll give it that.

It is like the game is saying, "Well, both your clients each said you died, so we will just make it a tie and call it a day."
