a lot of times the opponents I face are too easy. I suspect many are new to the knifing game and that their approaches to knife battles will improve over time, but I can't help but feel a little dissatisfied with the outcomes of the majority of my bouts.
I often think to myself, "hell yeah, let's dance all day," but as soon as they come in for the first attack, they are usually dropped with minimal effort on my part. It seems to me that many knifers are too hasty with their methods.
They often employ the sprint jump charge attack but often overshoot their destinations or are easily evaded by a simple side-step. Another thing I noticed is that they always want to be the first to attack. While I do agree that attacking first will prove favorable for the knifer, I only find it to be effective when the enemy is caught off guard.
In a straight up duel, attacking first leaves the defender with ample time to counter swipe or jump out of harms way. I should also note that a lot of knifers tend to bunny hop. I find this to be a waste of stamina and should mainly be used to close distances: not used as the primary means to avoid attacks.
In all, I'm not saying I'm a good knifer nor am I saying that others should get good. I'd just like others to take the time to plan out their attacks instead of constantly rushing in as if they were some invincible ninja.

I'm not trying to have ninja showdowns with other scouts, I just want the kills. Lol... your post reminds me of my first ever knife fight a year or so ago. I was in my profile dampened MinLogi suit and came across a MinScout. The duel started off okay until I got the first knife hit in. The scout back pedaled and switched to his SMG. I told myself I'd never try knifing again after that incident... |

But that obviously isnt working on advanced nova knifers . The best knifers I had come across in duels were those who waited for me to make a move. They'd attack when I would attack. They would always keep their distance and have me in focus. They were quick to retreat and reposition after failing to take me out.
These players are the most fun to duel with and in my opinion, are also the most skilled. They do not move around or attack at thin air excessively. They are patient and precise, but most notably, they are willing to gamble everything on a two-sided jumping charge swipe exchange and hope things play out in their favor. Although they are reserved, they are not hesitant to throw themselves at an enemy when they feel there is an opportune moment to attack. |
