My favorite has to be chrono trigger. I love it most because of the story line.... The sci fi time traveling theme. I like how you can face the main boss of the game at over a dozen different points in the game to get a different ending. I like how what you can do in the past affects the future. I haven't seen another game like that since Legend of Zelda Seasons/Ages for gameboy color.
What is your favorite RPG and why? I have been thinking about making an RPG and I would appreciate some input as to what makes a good RPG.

pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, crystal, ruby, sapphire, emerald.
doesn't get better than those. i need to force myself to play the popular games i never tried like final fantasy and metal gear. most of the reason i havent is because i was a nintendo kid. oh well i am proud of myself for getting into resident evil last year at least. |

i gave KOTOR a go when i had an xbox 360 but... it was just so outdated at that point i couldn't get myself into it. i got to the planet with the jedi masters on it and i gave up. don't know why i just couldn't get into it.
im ashamed about it because i was a huge star wars fan back then. but oh well. |

I really need to play FF3/4/6 or whatever it is depending on the console.
I also very much enjoyed Earthbound.

Oh, how could I forgot...
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete PS1 revisit of a game that had been done poorly on Sega CD (due to Sega CD's limitations). Excellent game with top notch anime cut scenes in the PS1 "Complete" version. Good concept for story, well told. Track it down if you haven't played it yet!
