If Call of Duty can do it on a console only experience. There is absolutely no reason it cannot be done in a mk/b focused FPS title with many more control buttons available.

I agree. But capacitor on a suit is something I don't see happening. However, capacitor on a vehicle is something I can definitely see happening.

If the 13 year old COD kiddies can handle it, so can the Dust/Legion community.
This idea of a shared "ability" resource to manage things like active equipment, cloak, propulsion (sprinting and possibly jetpacks maybe?), and possibly active modules like hardeners and repairs would be huge, and almost paramount imo, for balancing.
Its possible to add this is to both dropsuits and vehicles. Stamina is not a hard concept for current Dust players to understand, just building on that concept would work great. It would provide depth for veterans while remaining generally NPE friendly as long as early suits are locked from advanced resource management.

I don't see why not since it might add depth to the gameplay. It was in the weekly updates back during the beta and the devs had a similar idea which I don't think really never happened like a lot of things. The only thing that came close is cloaking and Inertia Dampeners .
There's hardly any abilities that the mercs have on their suits that constitute as futuristic or interesting, many games already do like AW,Crysis,Halo, etc |

Your audience Z, if you haven't figured it out by now, is us r-tards who came to dust looking for EVE:BATTLEFIELDS. Not some watered down "american" lager of a shooter that breaks most of EVEs continuity and lore by tying in elements from twitch shooters and over-simplistic game mechanics.

You must hate how cloak has to recharge then? Do you believe cloak should never have had a timer in the first place?

That's not how cap works in EVE, as you people said you want. Tie in Sprinting, shooting, and almost every other active module into that. Then you're going to have to do FPS combat on top of that. |

Its not that far off from how capacitor works.
The major differences between capacitor in eve and how cloak works is that your regen is stopped while cloak is active and you regenerate cloak linearly and not using an arcsin function.
However, capacitor in eve feels quite different between say.. a capital and a frigate. If you extrapolate down to a dropsuit sized level, you would have some freedom to change things.
You don't HAVE to tie in everything to capacitor, you can take some liberty and say weapons and deployable equipment have their own capacitor, that kind of stuff is completely fine to take in the context of eve lore, considering the relative size of dropsuits vs ships in eve.
However, the idea of a shared depleting resource for active modules would be a great way to balance the activated portions of the game. For vehicles alone it would be so much better for balancing active modules compared to this timer crap that exists currently.
In this context you could implement active armor reps, active hardeners, all sorts of 'vehicle restricted' items. As long as the recharge is relatively quick (allowing you to run modules to capacitor depletion without excessive penalty) its not a problem. Cycling active modules with the number keys would not be difficult to do and it would add a real strategic element to game. It would give a balance to concepts like jump packs (a la Titanfall or Planetside 2) as well as items like remote reps, cloaking, sprinting, any type of scanning based active ewar, etc.
if Call of Duty can do it, so can Legion. Open your mind a little to the possibility.
If you truly think its not possible I would be interested to hear why. To say that pressing 1-4 during fps combat is too difficult is just not a valid response though, especially with the relatively high TTKs that already exist in the game.

No kidding look at that. I guess I just assumed they would recharge cause one use per life is kind of dumb. But I guess it is COD after all...
It's still fairly related though, it is timer based abilities. I just propose they can also recharge as well.

I'd love to see capacitors for vehicles and drop suits. It would add more depth to gameplay. It's particularly important for vehicle balance. You could make a maxed out vehicle a very expensive badass toy, that is always at risk of being crippled with Ewar, and taken down. This is a huge part of how EVE has balanced significant gear imbalances. A day 1 player can cripple a billion+ ISK ship and pin it down for his buddies to kill. It's very risky to undock in a ship that's too pimped out because you're a flying loot pi+Ķata that looks awesom on a killmail.
I don't really buy the argument that it's too difficult to manage either. Managing multiple cool down timers is harder than a single resource pool. It also allows for better balance. You can activate everything and rapidly suck your cap dry, or be more conservative and have a lot more sustainability. And of course you're always vulnerable to cap warfare tactics.
Best PvE idea ever!
