I have not played this game in a month or so but have been playing again a bit recently.
All I have to say is - WTF did CCP do to the burst HMG? One of those LAV heavies drove up to me yesterday, jumped out with his burst HMG an killed my 600hp suit (granted 600 hp is not huge) in like a nano second.
Brrrrrrmp Barrmmp DEAD.
What the actual feck?

Jihad LAV`s are not the same thing at all.
If he came at me with a JLAV I would easily have time to react and run away from the blast radius. The HMG drive by`s were bad enough but you could occasionally take them out when they got too cocky.
This new breed of Burst hmg drive by`s.....the burst destroyed me in one burst. Absolutely 0 time to react.

I saw a burst hmg player using a modded controller the other day, Postilloneonin i think was his name. destroyed my proto gall sentinel in 1 sec or one trigger pull for him, while being repped by 2 proto logis.   was probably manual fireing but you can get 2-3 bursts off in a second and each one is like 1350 damage (before damage profiles) so yeah it can eat people alive also did i mention FOTm is like amarr sent+burst hmg as amarr sent can get like 800-900 shields and 1300 near 1400 armor.. thats Ducking Futs I would like it for once when you posted was actual facts not random bull sh it to make things over exaggerated. An amarr sent with max core skills will have 450 shields and 750 armor before mods. An amarr sent has 1h 4L @ proto. Which means max ehp would be 522 shields and 1344 armor. Maybe you should stfu until you actually have real facts to go with your statements.
Guys, I appreciate the commentary in here but I do not give a DAMN about what suits can get what hit points.
This thread is about the abuse of a totally broken game mechanic and a OP weapon system.

However, I can counter these players easily in any suit.
Call in a LAV
Make sure to get on the opposite side of the vehicle that they will be jumping out from
Quickly run towards their LAV in order to make sure you are as far away from the player as possible.
Try and distract them by shooting over the LAV as they try and circle around (the etra speed you have makes this easy
Jump in your own LAV when it has been called in.
The other tactic is to be a badass and make them have to reload while also applying DPS to them the whole time, then if they try and run away you always have your own LAV to get out of there as soon as possible.
Don't have a LAV to call in? Use cover and speed
Stuck in the middle of a field? Don't stand in the middle of a field.
At an objective by yourself? Use your own burst HMG or shotgun or remotes
I am sorry Mr. Elite that we can't all be in scouts with cloaks 24/7. So you are basically calling me and others a dumbass for succumbing to the burst drive-by`s?
So the surprise LAV turns up, the way to counter that is to call in an LAV?
Get to the opposite side of the vehicle?
Run towards the HMG?
"Use your own burst HMG" = THIS IS NOT A COUNTER
I'm sorry but that is all total BS. At no point was there any chance to react. Now if you are saying that I should call in an LAV of my own after the fact, how is that a counter?
Forgive me if I am not quite understanding you but it sounds like you are defending this practice.
