In fairness, this is only the fifth game I've heard will "totally kill" DUST when it releases, and DUST's playerbase is still growing.

Dust 514 is F2P which means it would have to be burned, shot, stabbed, staked through the heart, beheaded, then dissolved in acid to truly put it down.

Some direct competition to Dust 514 is coming out in a week. NOW would be the time to tell us more about Legion. You are not going to win the hype-war, but you can reassure your current playerbase that Legion is still relevant and moving forward. If you can't get screenshots or developer interviews then start posting more actively in the Legion General Discussion again.

Also... is CCP Rouge still with you? We haven't heard much* from him since his damage control posts post-fanfest.

Direct competition? You mean a game you need to buy a new system for for it to be fancy and pretty? Something that only has 22 missions, a squad of 3, and "events" where you find other people to kill things with for 5-10 minutes?

I'd rather play Diablo 3.

Those are people making characters for the sole purpose of taking all the starting ISK, then biomassing them. That's not "growing" the playerbase.

We actually have more people playing the game now at the same time than we used to.

if the competition is as god awful as it's beta was in terms of fun and replayability it can't even hold a candle to Defiance which is also not that great of a game but way better than destiny who is just a ripoff of borderlands and defiance with some added fluff only the simple minded could enjoy the glorified menu screens which defiance doesn't even really need since it's a large scale persistent map vs a shoe box with a glorified loading screen to make you think you are flying in space. what a joke and it will end up being sold for $6 or free to play on store in under a year.

Regardless of if you personally consider it direct competition or not, the gaming "general audience" will.

Destiny is primarily a PVE game. It has PVP yes (and I've seen the videos... it's pvp has some okay things about it, but it already has a laundry list of complaints). It will be a big game, but that's got a lot to do with the Halo draw. Honestly I think you're trying to compare apples to dragons here.

If we don't hear news of Legion cancellation before fanfest I'm expecting there to be a giant Legion presentation with some kind of Early access/Beta... until then why would CCP continue to **** on their console player base and release PC legion info when there is still a group of concurrent 4k players still throwing money at them... ?

Anyway Soya has a point but the failed Dust 514 killers also sucked massively. For real, it has been a bad year for AAA games. However, Destiny does not suck and its competing on Dust 514 for PS3 where it looks better runs better and has a lot of content in it.

Sadly this one will hurt, during beta my friends list that is mostly players where all playing destiny the whole weekend that's 30 something of the dust players dropped it in mere moments for 10% of Destiny's gameplay.

Egro the devs need something solid soon or this project is over.

Destiny was a crappy 50$ BETA-DEMO of which was too small and extremely limited and geared more toward the Filthy Casuals hence destiny will not be much of a contender in the least...

CCP as a whole and having been a player of their games for years is more about sustaining the playerbase not just copping out and getting as many Hype purchases as possible in the shortest time before dieing off selling off and going Free 2 play...

Now if you still feel the way you do please forward all your isk to me and uninstall dust and do not post on the forums again unless its an "IM BACK" topic outlining how wrong you were about said game you left dust to play and get bored of very quickly.

Legion is still being worked on; the reasonings for being quiet is that they're quite not ready to share yet. After all it still has its project label status. CPM has urged for increased communication and even a schedule but that can only go so far.

Its annoying I cannot share what I am glad to see so far. However my ultimate judgement (and likely everyone elses) cannot be made until I start getting my hands on it to see if legion is going the right direction.

Meanwhile Dust 514 if you been noticing has been cranking the gears up; I wonder how fast we can get this going. Time will tell.
