Great fix CCP great fix! this is what we really needed! its you sit up there looking for vehicles to shoot or nothing at all no splash damage crap. Im not so happy about my rail tank getting its splash taken away though its not like it was that affective and was relievable to try and get a kill but WHHHAAATEVER fine trade off if that is what it takes.
We are one step closer to AV becoming AV.

Please by all means AV waste your 4 bullets shooting down on people which you will have to directly hit. instead of the tanks lol. AV surprises sooo much. You guys will be surprised what happens to your kill count when you can shoot down on infantry anymore.

I didn't know assaults could fg snipe I was told since you could not hold the charge sniping was impossible but you claim you can still do it 150m away. auto light weapons can miss at that range through scopes. You guys are hip firing..

It's no harder than sniping in battlefield (headshots). Actually it's way easier even at range (but not extreme ranges).

Doesn't really matter much. Most kills I've seen are from direct impact and they're not touching the IAFG at all, the most popular one. |

I'm not going to waste my precious Wiyrkomi BFG rounds on a starter suit running in a straight line when there is a vehicle anywhere in my field of view, because landing a single hit on a vehicle is going to get me at least 75wp, vs 50 wp for killing infantry.
But sometimes, there aren't any vehicles to shoot at, and I'm not just going to sit up there waiting for a militia lav to drive by.
What I am telling you is, most forge gunners killing infantry are doing it with direct hits, and are actually pretty good at it.
I'm using a breach forge gun, which if you aren't familiar with already has the splash damage and splash radius of a flaylock pistol, with a 4.5 second charge time. I take potshots from high ground at infantry all the time, and frequently hit my target. Nothing more satisfying than hitting a brick tanked sentinel.
Very few of my kills are from splash damage, so please believe me when I say I'm not concerned about the nerfing of the forge splash damage
If you actually want me to stop nuking infantry with a forge gun, you'd have to look into reducing their accuracy in a way that they are just precise enough to hit vehicles but can't reliably hit smaller infantry, or give infantry some kind of damage resistance against forges |

Agreed, plus it's hardly a surprise that another part of AV is getting yet another nerf. Next thing you know the buff to assault builds will rapidly go '**** up'(Bioshock multiplayer reference).

Not really happy about this change, but not raging over it either. Like all seasoned forge snipers know by now, splash hasn't really been a factor in kills for a while now. And it's not gonna prevent me from blapping irritating snipers trying to pick me off or heavies rounding a corner, cause 99% of those kills are dead center, anyways.
Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I'm good with it. Now you forge sniper QQers will have exactly zero reasons to complain when I'm still pwning you from 150m -- pure skill shot, baby.

Most people will always be charging the FG and then will stop the charge just before it fires, if you have elevation considering your usually at half charge from repeatedly charging you only need to hold them in the big red reticle for a second so if you catch someone still for a second or two they are pretty dead. I don't forge often and I've killed 5 people with only 2 magazines before while it's not exactly easy with someone like me not being a great forger and being able to pull off 60% of my shots at points a skilled forger holding his charge will still be able to wipe the floor and if you've seen Funk Whale forge he can kill people you can barely see their so far away with assault forges.

I can't even recall the last time I killed someone with Forge gun splash damage.
The only people that ever killed with splash on a regular basis were the tower forgers of old, but since the nerf (in reaction to the forum whining), splash has been a non-issue for quite some time.
This changes absolutely nothing. CCP already dealt with splash ages ago. This "new" development is nothing more than redundancy.

Although I have been splashing lots of red dots consistently lately.

Why do you guys just make stuff up and change stuff that doesnt need to be changed. You guys are going to make DUSTIES loose all hope in your decision making and make us not want to be part of anything that you guys make. Your tweeking is absurd and does not make the game more fun. As a forge gunner I've got to wonder why it had splash damage to begin with... Who splashes a tank, you sure as hell don't splash a dropship, lol... Though as has been said here, not many infantry kills are splash related anyway, so fission mailed either way. |

Nah, forge's superior anti-infantry power comes from instagib COMBINED WITH bullet magnetism.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

It would be a harmless (to our suits and vehicles anyways) but pretty explosion, there for little more than dramatic effect. Like the special effects in a movie, fireworks, or the standard flaylock pistol |

Oh yeah, this affects me about as much as Apothecary Za'ki's opinions.
Hint: not at all.
Red reticle when the charge finishes means yer dead, pubbie. I go for bodyshots, not shooting your feet. All a splash hit means is I need to lead more (or less) not indicative that I should fire the same way.

but if it does make it in id be pissed.. FG splash was already nerfed hard to the point of uselessness anyway so why remove it completely? when technically there would be splash back of hot metal shards as the bolt impacts the surface of a tank or the ground or a wall.
far too meny whiners in whiner corps whined about OP FGs when they are not op its just like PLC used against players.. PLC has a big splash.. how about we remove the splash from PLC too while were at it? or remove splash from flaylock or MASS..

AFG direct hitting nubs from 150m+ away is not all that difficult with the assault, FG sniping will still be a thing on some maps. I didn't know assaults could fg snipe I was told since you could not hold the charge sniping was impossible but you claim you can still do it 150m away. auto light weapons can miss at that range through scopes. You guys are hip firing.. I hope your just full of hipe from the safety of being on rooftops happy camper. IF this kind of stuff is legit just encourages a changes. I can assault forge snipe at max range, it's not even difficult even though you can't render infantry at that range. You just have to determine player locations by their chevrons.

No one cares about FG splash.
I rarely snipe with the forge, but had the chance today and remembered how much I love it. Even after blapping 4-5 Reds in a row they would still respawn and run back to crouch in the open and camp. Pssst... I can still see you. You are still in range. Good times. Zero splash kills.
I feel the same about FG body shots as I do when I get killed by a SG scout from behind. It's my bad for standing still or getting tunnel vision.

Theyre creating problems so they dont have to do a real update. This game will never be balanced just a lot of hotfixes.Like theyll get rid of mass driver splash damage or something ******** like that and have to spend a month to put it back in. Instead of working on real things like matchmaking.Id also like to see a map creator like what skate 3 did. This game would never be dead if we had stuff like that. |

Lmao I love this. I completely get it. Rage is why I play this. I LOVE getting hate mail, knowing I just ruined this guy's day and made him rage quit. There are times where I'll rage quit too. I died so much him from shottys and snipers it wasn't even understandable. Shottys I get, it's fun and super OP, BUT..... What the hell is up with all the snipers? I'm noticing vets go from Heav/Logi to full-time sniper. Shottys did this, yes I'm aware. Still, adapt with 1.8 already and get a cal ~ gal scout and be an ******* shotty like the rest of us scrubs. People are going from rage quitting to giving up (retiring) or sniping untill Destiny. Sucks.
Been fighting this war since beta. When can I go home and see my family again? Will I survive this brutality? :)

It's funny, ADS pilot flies away and they are a baby, they stick around and they are a 'noob'..... basically a no win scenario. Its annoying tracking a good ADS pilot but its also part of the game and is a challenge. Just be thankful the whole team cant ADS.....

When people complain about them evading (personally I prefer to use building if I cant bet your ass im going to mars) I ask them what you want them to stand there and let them shoot you ad loose 500k to your 70k?
